360 vs ffXi

When I get back from Iraq

When I get back from Iraq I plan on doing just this:
Keeping one account on my ps2 to use with my regular 27inch TV
Buying xbox360 and getting another account started on that (im a nerd)
Buying a HDTV because the only real way to utilize the xbox360 is to get the HDTV. Otherwise graphics still look just like regular xbox.

(Still gonna buy my motorcycle too though ^^)
But the one thing that makes me not want to get it: I heard xbox360 version requires you to have the cd in to play. That cannot be good as eventually the lazer is going to go bad or the cd will go bad. Bad call on microsofts part.
 
Well right now I have 2 PS2s and 2 PCs in my house that can play FFXI and I have 3 accounts and my brother has one. So upgrading to 2 360s is kinda pointless. I'll probably eventually do it cause I'm buying a 360 for my brother for Christmas and I'm getting one myself, but I already have to change all of my macros over to my new PC and I don't want to change more macros than I have too. And what's the point of putting a 360 in a room without a HDTV?

um... didnt microsoft buy out sony on the ff title or something like that so sony wont be making any more ff titles on the ps2/3 other then the ff12 thats comming out soon. I'm not 100% sure about this but I am sure I over heard someone saying someting about this.
 
Uh that's Sony who has some % stock in SE, but non voting stock, but anyways there already is an FF in development for ps3, among FF7: Dirge of Cerberus for ps2, among other SE games, Seiken Densetsu 4, KH2, and w/e else they bring out.
 
I'll get it, but not for a few months. until the holidays are over and the hype dies down. I hate shareing an account with my brother so i need something of my own.
 
ill be back on 360, specially since the demo i got my hands on is 50X smoother than any ps2 or PC ive played it on...i couldnt believe it. i didnt think it was gonna be THAT much better!
 
Heh that's you, if you want to spend $480, including ToAU when it releases, just to play FFXI on the 360 go ahead. I won't be though, until 360 gets some must have titles I want to play, and atm I don't really see anything in the coming year I'm interested in. Plus faulty consoles at launch(of course) so it's better that I just wait a year before I decide whether or not I buy one lol.
 
the 360 will be the first relessed consul with ffxi in europe
 
Uh actually I heard ToAU won't release til after the 360 FFXI releases, so there will be an extra charge, but who knows :P still gonna be $450 or so anyways, plus you need to keep the pol dvd inside the 360 to play, so expect DRE's heh :P
 
People need to stop complaining about the price ofthe game being $450. Its 50-60 and the console is 400. People who only buy one game for the 360 are throwing alot of money out there for one game and I have a hard time believing that's gonna happen. The cost of the console will be spread among all the games one buys.

Yes you do need to keep the disk in, But thats basically like most PC games that just use the disc as a key check. It wont actually be reading information while you play. Because FFXI is an HD required game, Since the files are constantly being updated and written as you play and or update, you cannot write to a disc as you play....so im not worried about needing the disc in.

and yes ToAU has been planned to come packed with FFXI 360 for awhile now, and its also not gonna cost any extra to use it with xbox live as many believe, FFXI uses the silver service which is the free version of XBL And complaining about price is a bit sad.
every game system that has come out has been quite pricey for its time. And yet people buy them, the ps2 was pricey but i wont complain about it cause i bought something i enjoyed till sony became uncaring pricks. And if you havent read, the Ps3 has been quoted from sony as expected to cost more than the 360. which im sure people will whine about then too, but i personally dont look forward to ps3 at all anyway, i lost faith in sony when they pulled their HD scandal.
 
Eh I know a lot of people that are only planning to buy the 360 for use with FFXI and nothing else which yes is stupid but it's their money so meh. And yes I know it'll be free with xbox live silver but still gotta pay the monthly FF fees anyways, and gotta get the gold service if you play other games online too. Anyways if I do get a 360 it won't be for a while, til at least when Blue Dragon and/or Lost Odyssey release heh, cause I'm not just gonna buy it to play FFXI lol. And I'll get a ps3 anyways cause there's still a single player FF(XIII) in dev for it, among other games I'll want to play. Anyways how long is FFXI for 360 gonna be? Like by March or something last I heard, not sure though. Also yea I did a little research ToAU will be releasing with FFXI 360, or that's the plan, but it'll probably be 59.99 like other 360 games. If the release is March though I won't be gettin the 360 version probably a year after it hits anyways, if I come back to game at all, quit in Oct heh, but if I do I'll be content on ps2 version til 360 goes down in price and they get all the kinks worked out.

yeah i would say buying a system just for one game you can play on a cheaper system might be dumb, But when i played i played on ps2 and the graphics sucked, the screen space sucked. It just wasnt that pretty, and i couldnt stand to play on pc version...im not a PC gamer type.
Then when i touched the ffxi360...it was prettier than PC, smoother and so much more screen space, it made me wanna play it on that system only.
But honestly, i bought an xbox JUST to play halo...then when it crashed shortly after halo 2 came out...i bought a brand new one just for halo 2.
and ive played halo 2 just about as much as i played FFXI.
i guess its worth it if it gets it use out of it.
And those who have xbox live already, wont have to pay for gold service on 360 if they have live currently on xbox.

Which...the smart thing to do would be...buy an xbox live account on xbox 1 for 50 bux for the whole year...and then transfer it to 360, that saves you like 20 dollars lol, the 12 month kit i saw at the store was like 70 dollars. not sure what that is for just the account but it would be funny if that worked lol.

but i also bought a game (mechassault, 6 dollars) recently, not to play it. Just because it had an exploit in it that let me mod my xbox without a mod chip. Theres alot of stuff people buy just for a single use out there...and im a victim of it, but like i said. If it gets all the use it deserves, its worth it!
 
The funny thing about the 360 release is that quite a few people who /quit back in the day will check it out to see if anything has improved. If that's the case, you may have old farts come back to the game seeing they could get parties in no time like the pc release...

Mmmm I play on PC... how come I don't get tired nor uncomfortable after playing for long periods? ; ; scary... (oh, and this is the only PC game I play... in fact, my first PC game lol)
