PS3 3D Dot Game Heroes Official Thread

[Gerry]

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that not many people here have heard of this game yet, so I'll start:

Developer: From Software/Silicon Software
Publisher: (I think SCEI)
Release Date: 2009/11/05 (Japan)
Unknown (NA and EU)
Age Rating: A (CERO: Japan)
RP/Unknown (NA and EU)
Genre: Action Adventure/Role Playing Game

Brief Description:

A Parody/Tribute of the old Zelda games in 3D. Basically, The game world was 2D, but after tourism of the kingdom in the game dropped, the king said "Let's go 3D!", and so they did.

Gameplay:

This looks to be a very amusing game, I sincerely hope Atlus pick up Publishing rights soon =)

Very cool, I'd like to play this, especially if it came out at a bargain price.

Doubt it would come out at Bargain price at first to be honest, plus a US/EU date is still TBC. I've e-mailed Atlus though asking about if they are gonna publish this game here though, so I'll let you guys know when they (eventually) get back to me.

I can tell you where to import it though, but it'll be kinda expensive.

This game has been on my radar for a few weeks, and I'd really like to see it come over here. I love the retro look of it. Here's hoping...

[Tiael]

Yeah this has been on my radar since I've heard of it. Some say it's a rip-off of Zelda but I say it's more of a homage to that and Dragon Quest.

Anywho, I'm thinking it'll either be Atlus, XSEED, Ignition Entertainment or Marvelous Entertainment to pick it up for localization/publishing, I hear there's a few companies who are battling over the rights for it, so it's sure to come.

[Elemmire]

I wonder if they coulda put this on the PSP I'd rather play it on the PSP for some reason.

We also have a price! $40. Atlus are giving this game to us for $40!!!

[Tiael]

That's half of how much it costs in Japan, great deal.
Can't wait til May.

I wonder if they'll change the loading screens to make them more in line with old NES box art.

Doubt it to be honest, though it'd be nice.

[Firestreak]

$40? Sold. I really doubt think this would have sold well at 60, but it's an easy nostalgia trip with a a nice little hook.

[Gerry]
