I have version 4, never really used it beyond making a couple very simple models, was wondering whether you can give any feedback on whether any versions later than 4 are enough of a change for me to try and get someone to fork out the cash for a new copy.
I use Version 4 of 3D Studio Max and really for my level of animation it does just fine.
I don't use it for my job it's just I got a killer "student discount" from my buddy's mom who is a College Professor in this field.
So far what I have figured out with this program is pretty neat but yeah I can't answer much about it but damn my buddy sure could.
Pretty much my skill level in this program is about that of an artist drawing stick figures.
Anyway I will ask him and see what he thinks if you haven't an answer by then.
