Yup, it's cold, for real this time. Long cold spells like this do pose some problems around here. Cars become what we call cold soaked. Meaning that the engine is so cold, that no matter what, it will be extremely unlikely that you can get it started unless you manage to warm the engine up somehow.

Wasn't an issue for my German engineering marvel. :)
Oil pan heater, engine block heater, and battery warmer, plugged in all the time, plus 700 CCA and 5W10 full synthetic oil made my car start up on the first crank. I went to work, took a look around, and went back home. Working from home today, my home is significanty warmer than my office.

Man and to think i actually miss the cold. I got up today, got ready for work, went outside...rain...HolyS@#t! went back to sleep.

It seems that for some reason when it rains in HI, the already bad drivers become worse. And those few that think they know how to drive, automatically become a danger in road.

360's in the snow, now that i could go for right bout now.

It never really got that bad in Montreal, worst it got I think was somewhere around -20 with wind chill factor. Doesn't mean I miss it, mind you.

It's in the 70's right now here. Coldest it gets is in the 30's. Hardly any rain to worry about either.
Summers, on the other hand, aren't so pleasant...

Ouch, I couldn't live there I'm too spoiled. Glad to see a VW is worth something (sorry cheap shot, )

that's a tad chilly, not unheard of though... not for where i live anyhow.
