Well we did spiders in the tree my last leveling session and it sucked gorilla dong. Any suggestions where a 51-53 or 50-52 party can hang out without fear of mass carnage? :wink:
 
There are camps in Sea Serpent grotto by the Gold Beastcoin door that are quite nice I think, chaining Sahagin.
You might still be able to fight in Bostaunieux Oubliette but not sure at 52. 51 was fine, 52 might be ok if you chain fast enough.
According to Mysterytour you can camp in Uleguerand Range but I can't give you any tips there, never tried.
Ugh there's always the nest.
 
You could always chain Robber Crabs near the zone to Cape Terrigan in Kuftal Tunnel. That's what I did from 52-53, and got fast exp. :) Well... as long as it's not crowded there. 2 PTs is fine, but more than that and it kinda slows down the chains.
 
What Kyrial said; Also, Helm Beetles shouldn't be too bad at that level, either..think Spiders are for a bit past 50 and/or work much better with a NIN (or /NIN) tank..
 
We had a NIN tank but when the shadows fell and the sickle slashed... :shock:
 
I'd say the beetles in Crawler's Nest are best but you need a bard or red mage for sure to dispel them of their annoying buffs
 
Oh! Elemmire reminded me of somethin - Helm Beetles in Crawler's Nest are roughly 2 levels higher than the Chamber Beetles of Garlaige Citadel. I'd say try the Citadel ones first, if they're a bit too easy, the Nest ones should be perfect.
 
Crawler's Nest is actually good at this level. If you go to the far end of the helm beetle tunnel and camp there, you can take out Helm Beetles. Once you hit 53, the Knight Crawlers and Crawler Hunters will be right next to you to kill. They were all kinds of easy for us at 54 so you should be okay at 53 (and maybe even 52 if you're a good pt :wink: )
 
I really wish I fought spiders at that level. Yum yum free spider webs.

I suggest a going to Kuftal with a party that includes one or two BLM's. You can camp at Altep zone, main room (if asshole isn't around) or Cape zone. BLM's are key though.
 
Yes, BLM's are key. Dragoons and Dark Knights in the pt make for fun too. I had a party that was Pld, Drk, Drg, Whm, Blm, Brd. We had so much fun. It was one of those parties that you don't mind leveling in, because everyone is a good person and is ultimately there to have fun. We would purposely have the Dark Knight run out and pull 2 crabs just so we can test ourselves. Be sure to have a Distortion skillchain, followed by a Freeze MB.

Double Thrust --> Vorpal Scythe --> Freeze MB

Easily was doing 1500+ damage and killed a crab when it still had half its HP left. Good luck! :D
 
I told Palum Kuftal Tunnel on Robber Crabs, but he was hesitent because it's out in the Altepa Desert, and you're pretty much the WHM for the party (no teleports). I think you guys would do well out there. If you can get enough exp out there for a few levels, you can go back to The Boyahda Tree for... more crabs.
 
A. I have WHM 42 with all the teleports except Vhzal. I can teleport us, run to Rabao, and change jobs.

B. I am ALREADY level 53, and only about 4000xp to 54. I'm all for spiders, honestly, the xp was great, dispite a few deaths due to sickle slash. Every tank has to die once or twice though. That's just how it is.
 
I don't like tanks dying when I'm main healer though :cry:

They'd die with a WHM. Or two. Regardless who is main healing, Sickle Slash is bound to kill someone eventually. Same with Silence Gas from the exorays, and the self destruct of the Explosures. It's just too much damaged dished out at once.
 
look, spiders are just plain risky and the exp is really varied because spiders always seem to have an above average sized level range. sickle slash is so randomly destructive but the best exp party i ever had was doing spiders in the tree for the first part (8.8k/h ^-^) i want you back!!!
 
In my experience, Helm Beetles are not good at this level.

Kuftal is great if you can get 2 BLM.

Spiders might be a little tough, but they're fine if you have a good party setup.
 
No camp more spiders damnit, spider webs prices are rising to damn much because of fucktards PLing clothcraft and willing to acept a loss that has to add up to the millions. (They are running head first into a wall so ha ha ha ha)
