70+ WW looking for input

So I just hit 70 WW last night.
I've been reading up on the Synergy stuff and there seem to be VERY few things I can actually make.

So my question, I suppose, is threefold:

1 - Is Woodworking a good/useful ability for using with Synergy?

2 - Is there a place to hook up with other crafters and help out with this stuff?

3 - Is Woodworking really not that useful anymore? I originally picked it up when I was intending on RNG being my end-all, be-all 75, but I've been spending a lot more time on RDM... so while being able to craft my own demon arrows is cool, it isn't as useful as it once was.

I don't mind picking up another craft and taking it up if the two together would be useful, but am I better off just spending the time on something else entirely?

1. I don't know much about synergy/evoliths, but engetsuto (ww90, smithing, gs) looks to be a popular item to use with this system for non-tomoe sams.
2. To help out as in craft with/for you, your best bet is to ask around and make friends. If there's a central location where crafters gather, I'm not privy to that information. To help out as in answer random question about random stuff, any related forum will do.
3. It's possible to make a fair amount of gil with WW. It's still quite useful since shihei and arrows are always - and likely will always be - in high demand, and you're almost to the point where you can HQ shihei at a 50% rate. Demand for shihei also seems to be extremely high right now. Just like any craft, you need to be aggressive to make money with it.
