756!!!!

Yay now he can stop juicing himself up!

Just heard about this on the way into work...Hank Aaron's speech was really good, that he could still show respect for him despite the dark cloud over Barry.

I'll be impressed when...its over 9000!!!!

I'm still waiting for A-rod to break the record :P

A-rod is already ahead of Barry's pace as is. I think A-rod will break it when he turns 40. The real question is who wins the world series first if Barry doesn't retire after this year?

There's a new Home Run Race? Last one I saw was Sammy Sosa vs Mark McGwire.

lol Nego...Barry broke the single season home run record a couple of years ago. This is now for the all time home run record, which he got last night.

As far as the A-rod speculation, he is ahead of Bonds pace to rebreak the all-time record barring injury. But remember, when looking at paces, they look at how many homeruns you had at this point in your career, or at this age in your career, or after this many years in your career. Bonds took off (controversially so) late in his career, so his spike in production is at the point most players' productions are dropping. I do think A-rod has a very good shot at it, but don't crown him the king when he's still 250+ homeruns away, as alot can happen in that time.

Henry Aaron is still the home run champion. Fuck off with your god damn steroids and HGH Barry. Nuts the size of fucking peas.

Hank Aaron is still numbero uno in my book

A-rod will break it barring any injury. I believe he's almost 200 home runs ahead of Bonds at the age of 32.

I'm writing in BB for pres next election just for you Shyrra :D

Honestly though, I've often compared steroids and HGH to the hackers and gilbuyers ingame. Accomplishing feets and improving oneself to normally unreachable standards through 'illegal' means, or by taking the short-dirty route and enhancing your character by purchasing gear you otherwise might not obtain.

I then stop thinking about this because I realize what a nerd I am.

Bonds hit 72 at the age of 38. No one comes close to that type of number at that age. Read my page 1 post...A-rod can 'hope' for 35 at that age and that would be a stellar year in most cases. This is why the entire pace issue has to be looked at as more then a trend.

Lol... The kid that caught the ball didnt even want to go to the game... He is from Queens NY. A mets fan. Was on his way to Australia, went to game last minute choice... Got sick valued ball... I need this luck wtf...

barring injury.

Those are always two huge key words when it comes to records in sports. As long as A-Rod stays healthy, he has about 8 years to hit about 260 homers if this is Bonds' last year. In the NHL Mike Bossy would have beaten Gretzky's goal record if he didn't lose his back halfway through his career. Seeing good players capable of setting new standards getting hurt early on is always disappointing.

I was a little surprised to hear Barry's ball being estimated at $500,000 today. I hope whoever has it gets a nice chunk of change before A-Rod breaks the record and Barry's ball becomes not so sought after like McGwire's.
