If you are gonna do G2, HAVE YOUR F***ING CRYSTAL.
That way, the group doesn't have to wait a half hour for you to walk there.

Pisses me off cause I would have had enough time to do G2 if people had their shit together. But I ran outa time just as the alliance I waited 3 1/2 hours to get going with got to the Borell tiger....

Hey Braydon, I completely agree with you, there are COUNTLESS people at level 50 ~ 55 without thier crystal.

You know what? Screw it. I'm starting a movement with a mission to (a) get rid of all level 50 noobs (b) or at least get them up to speed on all the things they need to know and accomplish.

SMLNA or Stop Mid Level Noob Activity will go to work as of today!

They are giving the rest of us a bad name

I don't think it's very fair to flame people for not having this crystal at level 55. What other things do you actually do pre-55 that you would need the crystal to accomplish? I seriously cannot recall a single thing. I got mine purely from wandering around like an idiot at level 42.

People constantly flame this crap, and yet most have been past offenders of the same crime. Plus, if someone knows their way through the pass and the glacier, it really doesn't take too long.

the way i see it, if someone is going to be doing a quest with you and there are things that you need to have done(crystal, flag quest etc.) then you should have it done... lazy people suck

I just want to slap people like that.

It shouldn't of taken 3 and half hours, thats just poor organising not people not having crystals. When idid it, half the people in my alliance (me included) ddnt have crystals. We did the whole thing in under 3 hours, there and back. I didnt have a clue where i was going at the same, and i still have no idea where the hell im going in Glacier.

If the crystal was required to flag the quest, your point would be valid. But basically, what you are saying is one big contradiction. Lazy people suck yet...Teleporting to Vahzl...Is that not the lazy way to get there?

Part of the fun of getting something done can be the trip there. Just because you want instant gratification by teleporting out and killing and going back so you can break level cap and OMGLEVELSOMEMORE doesn't make other people lazy for having to take the trip. As a matter of fact, they are doing more work to get there then you are in that particular case.

It's not just an issue of laziness. I'm all for laziness =P. It's about respect for other people's time. It depends on what the situation is--IOW, if I'm just screwing around and exploring with friends there's different expectations than if I've asked a bunch of people to take time out of their schedule to come help me, and end up making them wait around for me because of my screwup. I mean, if you'd just jumped in at the last minute and you weren't expecting to do this, ok, but if you've been asking for people's help with this, it seems to me it'd just be courteous to let them know that I don't have the crystal (because the assumption for most people is going to be that you already have it) at the start, not when the WHM is casting Tele-Vazhl (I don't know what the exact circumstances were that the OP was talking about, just an example).

I think the point there trying to make is, alot of times people have there higher level friends and other helping who don't have to and so they dont feel like wasting a bunch of time waiting on people who are not as prepared as they should be for this particular quest.

I know personally when I helped Excim with G2 he was as prepared if not more than anyone I have ever helped with it. Now this made it alot easier on us espically sense we had a big group. Now sense everything went so smoothly I wouldnt mind helping out these same people with something else they might need. Now if everything sucked and no-one was prepared and it was a big fiasco I might would think twice before helping them with anything else.

So wether its lazy or not, its just best to be prepared.

Just my 2 gil anyway.

If the people knew they were going to be doing genkai 2 at a certain time, then not having the crystal is a flameworthy offense. If you just grabbed some people in Jeuno and tossed together a genkai 2 alliance, then get over yourself.

I didn't get the crystal until the day I did genkai 2, and even then I only got it because I was told to go get it. Maybe some people didn't know they needed the crystal, or they thought that they had gotten it already. No, it's not required to have, but it saves a ton of time.

Also, what if someone without the crystal also didn't have the quest flagged, and it happens EVERY TIME this quest is done? Then they would have made you waste a lot of time while they go back to jeuno, flag it, and return. Even if they get the crystal before going back to jeuno, that's still time lost and it's rude to make everyone wait on you like that.

My point is more to not get angry at people. Yes it's frusterating. I've helped out with more G2 runs then I can count. Everytime we get at least 3 people without the crystal. Everytime we get at least 3 people who didn't flag the quest and don't realize it until they try to get the item. Everytime we get at least 3 people who seem to think all they need to do is kill the NM, and miss getting the item. Everytime we get at least 1 overzealous person who runs headlong into the cave and aggros the mob before half the alliance is there.

Point being, you need to assume people will screw up. When I go to do anything related to a group larger then 6, I expect to be there at least 2 hours, just because of these things. It sucks, I know, but it's just the sad truth about this game. I'm just saying, as Bajaratt even enforced, G2 is the first real quest that the Vahzl Gate Crystal would come in handy for. So if anything should be expected, it's the fact that people won't have their crystal.

Braydon, I will personally help you solo your G2 if you need it. Let me know. I know it's a pain in the ass to get 18 people together.

First off, a night's sleep removed from this, I just want to say a few things:

1.I'm not flaming anyone. I needed to vent, and this was my outlet. I say this because I was the one who ran out of time. Not them.

2. I dunno if they were picked off the street, so I don't know if it was a lack of prep or not.

3. I am guilty of the same offense, kinda. I heard a /sh in Jenuo about a month ago for G2, and I sent a tell. The leader asked if I had the crystal, and I didn't at the time. So I didn't go(Obviously). I then treked into the glacier without a map, and got througly lost. I then got the map, went back, got to Xcar, and got the crystal.

I was just tired and just pissed that I wasted 3.5 hours on this, when I could have been hunting for coffers to get my Gallant Gauntlets. I was looking for someone to blame, and blaming myself wasn't nearly as satisfing.

I think Bajaratt and ThatGuyYouKNow are dead on

I'm just tired of people wanting to join in missions, and they have no clue what the goal is or how to accomplish it. They are unprepared in almost every sense of the word, and they have no courtesy of other players.

This is how I would sum up about 45% of the people who play this game. Thats 45% too many, I think.

Look, it's this simple... when you see someone shouting that they need help doing a quest, and you need that quest done too, I think it's perfectly acceptable to ask that you be prepared (Sneak Oils and Powders please) and you don't bring a bad attitude. I mean, if someone asks you to play golf with them, you wouldn't say yes and expect to use thier clubs would you?

And as to what Braydon was saying... we had some people who needed to walk up to Xarcabard for our trip too. You know what they did? They headed out about 15mins before the rest of the alliance did, and even found thier own person to lead them through Ranguemont and Beaucedine. Why? Because of courtesy, they didn't want to hold up the rest of the group, and I'll tell you something else... it was nice to not have to hold someones hand through a mission.

Thats my take anyways... :?

Yea, I was embarrisingly umprepared for the Dark Spark fight the other day. I was just on a roll getting my coffer keys, coffer, and all that jazz within a couple of hours so I wanted to go ahead and kill DS and it just happened that a pty was forming in jeuno to kill him.

I had to switch from /WHM sub to /WAR sub and forgot to Dismiss wyvern so oops....no wyvern.

I forgot I didnt have the Vhazl crystal so I had to walk there. Luckily my HP was in sandy so it only took me about 10min.

But yea....I felt so umprepared and was very embarresed because that is unlike me. In the end we killed DS and I now have my AF hands and feet. I just need the body and head now. w00t
