8 years old Killed 2 people o.O

We've been over this. Read the rest of the thread. Cars are not used with intent to harm.

Cars are not manufactured, designed and sold with the sole purpose being damage to other "things" .

These topic infuriates me, better to not get too involved. Hand helds should be either A) severely controlled or B) ceased all together exemptions being law officers.

I see no need for them in cities/large towns/communities.

Where I live, you have to have a Concealed Carry permit and in order to get that you have to take a course for it and I think pay a fee as well. (I haven't gotten mine yet) Even then if you are to carry the gun on you it can't be visible or it must be in a secure holster or case.

(not calling you out Ecks, just how that makes me feel)

That scares the living shit out of me! Many Many MANY people are capable of tricking others.

ACTORS, being the very best example I can come up with are not only, trained, paid but awarded for acting, becoming something/one they're not.

Who's to say, really, that people are not getting their tests done, passing, but are fucking sick, twisted Jeffrey Dahmers.. or more closer to home Paul Bernardos, both of which I'm confident would have gone through testing and passed as perfectly logical humans.

Just too close to home.

Because the majority of serial killers are geniouses.

And come on, did no one find what I said funny? :/

Its less about us wanting guns, and more about not wanting to have the government encroach on our lives.

QFT

I don't know why it doesn't occur to people that maybe the United States just has a more violent population than <insert your happy rainbows everywhere country here>. Just because guns being removed from <insert your happy rainbows everywhere country here> had positive results, doesn't mean it'll have the same impact here.

Also, never take anything Michael Moore shits out as srs bsns. Unless you're far, far left, nobody likes him. He's the epitome of people who hate America, but still find it good enough to not leave.

Very true, and I honestly can't see something like a gun ban working here or having any kind of a positive impact. It's our society that needs to change, which in my opinion should be done mainly through improved education.

I just don't think that most of you who grew up outside of the U.S. understand how ingrained guns are into our culture, and how seriously we take that right. Most of us grew up with guns in the house. I never would have touched my mom's gun when I was growing up, because unlike the spoiled kids of today I was taught that messing with it was wrong and I'd get my ass kicked if I even thought about it (which I can't recall ever doing).

Just wanted to add too that I hate, hate, hate Michael Moore. He just gives me the heebie-jeebies.

And? Serial Killers are only making up a fraction of murders. And a lot of them don't even use guns.

That does not mean that other unfit people are not "smart" enough to get legal firearms.

People make stupid decisions, if they don't have such a weapon to perhaps accompany their quick tongue/reactions,there'd be less unforseen, unmotivated murders. Less all together no?

Serial killers shouldn't be included in this discussion anyway. Those only make up a SMALL number of of killings, and as Skaw said, they're twisted and probably don't even use guns.

These fall in the small amount of murderers that don't really murder people for a real motive, and usually do it for other reasons, such as sexual pleasure. In most cases they take joy in being in control and their victim's fear, and probably wouldn't want to use a gun anyway because they like seeing their victim suffer.

I understand this.

That's learned respect which you're right a HUGE number of youths are not taught today. Parents have become frightened of raising their own children with a firm hand.

However, I don't think that would be enough. I also don't think education will stop or have a massive impact on the number of rash bad decisions resulting in murder from guns. An impact yes, but like I said (had to refresh to catch the above), people make bad decisions, if the tools were not as readily available or available at all, what would they resort to using? Their fists maybe, or perhaps a knife, some of you may say knives.

FYI : Paul Bernardo was NOT a serial killer, just a one time "Normal" murderer.

Knives, bats, a bat with a nail through it. Theres no shortage of weapons, manufactured, makeshift, or potential.

FFS, what I said was in response to what Cheebs said about the people she mentioned passing the gun licence. Not in response to gun control. Geez people.

C'mon C'mon lol, makeshift are likely less effective, less likely to be used, a bat with a nail through it, sure is crazy deadily.... I don't see every wanna-be punk/thug carrying them around. Hand helds are TOO easily concealed and too easily attainable. Plus, joe blow next door had a bad day, worked 20+ years in a shipping yard and snaps on his neightbour for bitching about his dog taking dumps on their lawn, happens to have a gun on him. See where I'm going ?

Knives would be my next worry, but FUCK, we got to start fucking somewhere!!!

I get passionate about this =)

I'd be much more worried about a fucker who took the time to CREATE his own weapon than one who went down to the local pawn shop and bought a 9mm.

You've been watching way too many Michael Douglas films lol. :D

I know sometimes I don't make myself completely clear but...

I don't see every wanna-be punk/thug carrying them around.

The number of fuckers who would take the time to create weapons vs fuckers who would have less effective choices to resort to would be much less.

and...

I watch mostly fantacy / childrens movies or horror. =)

I'm not sure if anyone was privvy to this information but the 8 year old child mentioned in the OP used to go Prarie Dog hunting with his father and was an excellent "sharp-shooter". So he damn well knew what a gun was for, used for and that what he did to his father and the other man was going to end up in its death.

Food for thought.
