Okay...I've been playing now for a year and I still don't get all these damn punctuation emotes. Maybe I'm the only one...but I get really tired of staring at dots and slashes thinking that I'm some kind of communicative gimp because I can't interpret wtf someone is trying to imply.

Sarcasm? Serious? Unhappy?

And then...do they change? I mean it's bad enough that some people can't write a sentence without including some form of ^ ending with some ; or / or X. But just when I think...okay - that thing is a sarcastic emoticonish-type thing...I see it again completely out of the context I thought it should appear in to begin with.

So HELP!! WTF do all these little signs and symbols MEAN???

ARGGHHH

you should never talk with me <.< I can't help myself but type these litthe things XD

And some of them I made myself out of miss-types, and no one really seem to know what they mean. Either way, it's fun :P makes the message more... lively O.o

really not much of a difference from emoticons =/

I actually like a lot of the lettered emotes people do. Especially the Jp ones since they can get a lot more creative with theirs due to using parts words to make them look like lil pictures. It really breaks up the monotony that is there when people talk cause its so funny to look at.

the best we can get is \,,/ (>.<) \,,/ or mustach man :{o

the theres someone winking ~.^

and a bunch of others that i'll leave someone else to do.

But i do remember partying with a Jp and they had a macro that showed them pulling a mob and then in the next line running away. I thought that was so cool that they can do that with use of Hiragana and katakana to make a lil pic/toon of them doing that. Personally i would like to see more of it.

A stupid 'smiley' used by japanese obsessed westerners over the internet
If this stupid fucking face was a person, I'd kick it in the back of the head
and
1. ^_^
The Asian variation of the classic smiley face. This is sometimes used in more cheerful situations.
Thank you so much, *hug* ^_^

both from urbandictionary.com - very funny imo lol
