Greeting, Quetz. As some of you know, I took a leave of absence from the game several months ago and said I may be able to return one day. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that's going to be able to happen. Life has taken some unexpected turns and $15 a month is no longer possible for me to invest in the game. I have since handed over my character to my brother, so if you see Galiant ingame, it's no longer the original player. It has been a very fun and eventful 4+ years, so I'd like to thank several of you who have had the most influence in my time here.

- The entire (former) linkshell of lolDynamis: My first, and only dynamis shell, I joined in early 2006 and remained until late 2009. I regret not being able to stay until the shell's demise. But I want to thank all of you for providing me with some good and exciting times on Mondays and Fridays for over 3 years. I know I may have been a hardass at times when I became the leader, but I was proud to be in charge of you all for that time. Tormknight, Nemesis, Kohra, Thalten, you guys helped me out a lot as officers and helping keep the shell together in my absence. Thanks for that.

- Celvantes: You were one of my first friends when I transferred to Quetz. I remember doing CoP together with you, Draciot, and Gregedor before SE decided to water them down. Was a fun ride, albeit frustrating as hell. I'm glad I got to see you finish your Aegis. You also gave me life advice outside of the game and that meant a lot. Mazel tov.

- Lyrai: I remember when we first met in some party in Quicksand Caves where we secretly made fun of how much of a moron our Paladin was in /tells. Turns out we had a lot more in common as we got to know each other over time. I know we may have had our issues later on, but I still consider you a good friend.

- Meilin: The girl I've known the longest in this game. We had a lot of fun times, both ingame and out. I know we lost touch somewhere along the way, but I'm glad we changed that and started talking again.

- Alberic: My favorite female-pretending-to-be-a-male Elvaan. We grew rather close also, and I apologize for the problems that ended up causing a bit of a rift between us, but I'm glad we got to still remain friends. I'm gonna miss your uber Gjallarhorn ballads.

- Buns: I didn't know you for very long compared to my other friends, but I'm glad we met. You helped me out a lot out of game with some of the problems I was going through, and that means a lot. Your goofy and fun personality always made me smile.

I know I'm forgetting a lot of people, but I just want to say thank you all who were awesome enough to be my friends (and screw you to those who decided to be dicks). It's unlikely that I'll return to the game, but never say never. In the meantime, goodbye and thanks again to all who made my near-5-year FFXI experience fun.

I normally refrain from putting my two-cents into this forum especially on a goodbye thread; however, I will make the exception here.

From the way you worded this, it's a shame you can't afford to play this game anymore. I hope the desire you have to play this game diminishes, since you were seemingly "making a valiant effort" to return prolonging this thread several months ago.

I apologize we did not really do much together in the game as we are RL acquaintances, being that the word friend would be used very poor manner...for maybe 1 in-game conversation a year? That being on the high side, reminding me about your plans for golden dagger. I wish I could have seen your taru in action against birds with the final product. Although, you stating your 5-year experience, time has flown since we were jailed into snore warfare by the hat police.

I hope your brother puts your account to good use. Good luck.

Always there for you wherever you go, my little Galibear. :]

We had some good times in game, especially our CoP/Assault static. Sorry to see you leave, but I hope you do well in real life. If you're interested in Star Wars, some of us may be playing The Old Republic next year.

I remember talking to you a little bit during my short stay in Loldynamis. Not sure if you remember me, I was only around for the summer so I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't remember me.

However I wish you good luck in real life, you always seemed like a cool guy to me.

I never met you, but I wish you good tidings in the real world. It's not just a $15 commitment to play this game, it's a lot of time too.

Also, am I the only one who's mind is tricking them into thinking the title of this thread says "A Belated goodbye from Glariont"?

<Glariont> No, you stupid. Barfira and then Curaga to seal it and give STR bonuses. duh.

Take care, Galiant. I hope that whatever you're facing 'in real life' works out for the best.

GaliantTaru <3 I know this isn't likely to be seen by you, but man I remember you. I feel like I shoulda kept playing FFXI to keep lolDynamis alive and kicking :\ (I'd have to convince Cythe to stay too since he was more authoritative of us and I was more management).

Hope things go well.
