Yosh if you were in a relationship and you require a holiday to make it special you should re-evaluate.

I belive you missinterprated my statment. I geuss I just didn't state my position very well. Unfortionatly that seems to happen too often. I agree that it is a somewhat of a useless holiday. But I embrace it because it's another oppertunity to show the ones we love just how much we do love them, and shower them with extra love and effection. Thats how I feel.
I know we don't need this holiday, but it's fun because it's something comeing up almost exspected but still somewhat surprising, because they never know just how we will show our love for them. I have enjoyed surprising my wife as my fiance, this will be our first valentines day together as husband and wife, and I will enjoy surprising her as my wife!
I don't know maybe I'm sappy or stupid or something, but I like this useless holiday because it makes people I love happy! :D
 
I agree with Kat wholeheartedly. I'm not real big into V-day, never have been regardless of whether I've been single or not. But every Valentines, single or no, I've been made to feel special by one guy- my Dad. I'm not discounting my husband, he's a sweetheart and got me just what I asked for today. My Dad always surprises me though- every year, he always does something for all the women in his life. This year we got a package shipped overnight, for both myself and my daughter. Inside were a dozen roses, a box of chocoalte, a teddy bear, and a balloon. Baby got the bear and balloon, I got the roses, and we split the chocolate. ;)

So I guess, the holiday is what you make of it. There's no written law that says you have to be in a relationship to have a good Valentines day. There's no secret club, with a "COUPLES ONLY" sign on the door. You can spend tonight doing just what you'd do on any other night, or you can hook up with other single friends, have a good time out, and show the world that you can be single and still love yourself.
 
I may work tonight. But it's with the girl I like so whatever. I'm gonna give her 12 roses... Think that's enough?

I did get to participate in mass ritualistic suicide, though.
 
Yeah Vday wasn't great.

It rained, i came home sick. Still am home sick actually.

Spent the day listening to some wrenching love songs for God knows why.
(Especially that one from MD/JC...)

V-day imho is just another day. The people who have someone are just ranting about how great it is, and talking to the people who do not have anyone all about how they have someone special.

The nature of the day is to get those sorts of ppl to buy things and do things that they'd normally not do, and make some money off of them in the process.

If you think have someone, great. You should have gone for it.

If not, whatever. Saved yourself a pocketful of change you can use to go buy M&Ms or something. Also got a day off while all your friends were coming up with expensive ways of expressing themeselves.

Btw, the episode of Cowboy Bebop, named "My Funny Valentine" is about the the origin of the character Faye. We find out that her real name isn't Valentine, the doctor who woke her just named her after his favorite love song.

"My Funny Valentine" is a jazz classic from Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Its a great song and its all instrumental. No words. You don't need flashy things like that to get the purpose of it all through to people.

Any day that makes men in relationships have to think of cute and creative ways to be romantic, is alllll good in my book.

I get sick of being the one who does all of the mushy stuff, that I admitedly LOVE. <3
 
vday is one of those days that reitterates that people, like myself, are alone...gets a tad depressing, therefore, i sit on ffxi all day and night.....err wait, i do that anyhow?!
 
My G/F let me do BCNM-40 on V-day.

LMAO... My wife saw me sit down at the computer and immediately said "oh.. going to log on to the game now?" I told her all I was going to do was check on my plants, check on my AH sales, sell some more stuff and log off.

Well, somehow I wound up leveling my NIN and found myself in a party in the dunes. I think I have to make it up to her. :oops:
