why do people jack prices and how do they get away with it?
 well first on is a no brainer they know people will pay so why not.

so how do you fix this 2 ways take away the price history box and # item that are in stock. <when no items in stock there be something saying no items> Doing this would make the seller pay what he thinks the item is worth instead of seing what the last 10 players payed for that item. This would also stop though people that raise the item price extra 1k-10k beacause there is only one in stock.

:vampire: problem is se which seem to start caring about there people, seem to be trying a attack to make everything in a master plan,
:nono: for which seem to be spirling out of control as of late

That wouldn't work, because the people that regularly farm an item would know what people are willing to pay for it, while the noobs are the ones that put it up for w/e. The noobs get screwed in the deal. Not to mention you'll have AH campers, buying cheap and selling high, and nobody would even know about them.

If you really want to keep an item that you buy regularly from getting jacked up, buy a few and post them at a price so inflated that nobody will buy them. Price jacking happens when there is little to no stock of items, and those put up sell within a hour. By having your insanely priced items at the AH, sellers will see some already up, and undercut. Price will go down, in many cases. The problem here is that you're probably not the only one wanting to buy that item, and unless you camp the AH furiously you're probably gonna help out your competition, assuming it's a tradeskill item.

why don't we just list no prices in department stores on everything? then that way all the manufacturers can get screwed by customers wanting to pay nothing for something.

/sigh

Only way to stop it is for SE to make everything available from a NPC and then the AH would then become a place to undercut the NPC's prices. Thus a cap is established. That would then kill much of the gameplay such as HNM, NM, truly rare items, etc. Not worth it in my opinion.

no people would list by worth instead of greed in since. also if they didnt say how much was in stock people would not try to up it because there may be 10 15 in stock and they would not buy
