A personal problem with server merges

Spite of what? If you mean spite out of seeing my friend get screwed out of her name by a long abandoned character, then yeah, maybe it is.
I can accept that people like you and Xali feel that SE's way of handling things was perfectly reasonable. But I'm still going to feel that they really should have given it far more thought.

Not about agree or disagree, I think your argument is more based out of this than anything else.

Sure, that is fine, I agree with you there. I just dislike immensely when people say "omg how could you understand how I (or in this case your friend) have been wronged?". It just screams how could this happen to meee. And then try to make an argument out of it. Its nice that you can accept our position, all I would ask is giving me the same courtesy to agree that I can understand someone's response to the situation, but still come to a different conclusion about it.

Way to completely fail at answering my question. You aren't explaining at all why my idea was "even worse" (because it's not -- it's more fair, it's just also more work). Instead, you ignored the question and you are explaining potential reasons why SE is lazy and/or doesn't give a shit. Which I can agree with. I think you are correct, and something similar to what you said is most likely exactly why they didn't do something more fair. :)
I did answer your question. Doing it your way instead of the way they did it would be worse because it would be more complicated, and it's time the development team either can't or doesn't really want to devote it to.

I think everyone forms their opinions based on their own experiences, and their reaction to them. You didn't have the same experience as I did, and even if you had, maybe you wouldn't have felt nearly as strongly about it. So yes, in retrospect, I guess I can understand how you would come to a different conclusion.

Then you misunderstood my question. My question was asking why you thought my way was "less fair", not how it was "more complicated". If I am understanding your position correctly, my idea was only "worse" because it would have meant that SE would have had to do more work. I'm already well aware of the fact that doing anything other than what they did would have been more complicated. And I'm in total agreement with you that SE obviously shared your opinion that attempting to be more fair wasn't worth the added effort they would have needed to put into the merge. My opinion (shared by many others) is that SE should have done something more complicated to attempt to prevent what occurred.

Most likely, we won't know if our feedback affected SE's opinion until they do the next merge.

I had a Personal Problem with Server merge, through some server swap magic I went for Holyknight Emblem to Wing of Integrity in one campaign Rank up. :3 Pretty much skipping 3 rank ups, Q.Q
