This struck me and Im wondering why no one thought of it. Or if they have, why they havn't mentioned it.

Alot of people on the forum openly state they use windower. Whats stopping some SE guy from reading a forum and finding a bannable target?

In most of your signatures, or through various pics and posts, present your real name. And since this is Quetzalcoatl Daily News, they can narrow you down easy.

Player name, server, typed confession. <.<

Now, its probably EXTREMELY unlikely. But...if your still wondering....maybe this?

They cant ban on hearsay on the internet...

Atleast not if they follow their own rules.

Counts as a third party sourse, so they can't,

And if that was the case, SE reps have popped up on Alla before now to do research on stuff like MPK, now I am sure if they keep an eye on Alla for MPK junk, then ALOT more people would be banned.

i'm sure if they wanted they would under raps. When theres a will theres a way.

Yeah, where there's an ass there's a pen0r willing to penetrate.

It is possible, whose going to come up from SE and admit it though? They don't need to. ; ;

they can't people from what they read on forums. If they could, I would be banned for using windower, but I'm not :P

If they read forums they'd know none of us are actually happy with most of the content and they might do something about it...

Hence proving this theory wrong.

Being serious however, sure they could ban off hearsay from forums, like Tyrath said they wouldn't be following their own rules, and thus you could have a good arguement for your case if you contacted their GMs.

Since they don't have access to any of the forum administration, they cannot confirm things like your IP address, the person that was logged in when the confession was made. It would not be fair to assume that all mentions of Windower are sincere.

They banned alot of people in the 2000 spree over "hearsay", at least that's what the banned will say.

How exactly do you/they come to that conclusion?

Its not exactly hearsay what we argued against..

You make alot of conspiracy theories. =P

Funny yet sadly, though, they can't ban someone just because they say something, wether it be on a forum or in the game itself. Some gilsellers have admitted they're RMT, GMs shrug and say "they could be lying". If they were to ban people just for saying they use Windower but haven't banned people whom have admitted to considerably worse TOS violations, it'd make less sense than humanly possible...

Its not that far out. Its their game and they made the rules "they" can do whatever they want legal or not. Just saying many companies break the rules they set quite often. Some even change the EUla from time to time.

If they were to ban you upon "hearsay", and no hard evidence, they would be breaching their own contract, and would be kicking themselves over it. And, because of the fact that they recieved their evidence from a forum site, without IP address or actual evidence of the character's account, you would have an impentatrable argument for the most part.

Not true. SE reserves the right to do anything to any account for any reason. It's their property, we're just paying to use it. So even if they did ban on a forum confession, you have no case against them for it.
