So, I'm finally 75. Which means I've got my glorious green armor set back available.

But now I'm stumped. I no longer need my Haubergeon, since I no longer need to do Pulling The Strings on Beastmaster(Will Henceforth return to Monk Version for Limit Points,) and I'm looking at 2 options for the gil from selling it.

1.) Grab Hauberk and farm up the remainder for Woodville's, or 2.) Grab Woodville's and melee in Osode until I get the gil for Hauberk as well.

I ask ye, Masters of Axe, which is the better option.

Meleeing in Osode? How 2004-ish of you. :/

Edit: Go with option #1. Osode is just a show piece. Like the high performance logos white kids iron on their honda civics when it's really filled stock parts.

I remember war's kept saying that Hauberk/Haubergeon was better than osode in that big thread about how useless Osode was. So you'll probably hear a bunch of posts along those lines. I don't remember the extent to which Hauby outparsed Osode though, and I would have liked to know that for a true comparison.

This is more along the lines of what will provide better overall performance: The jump to Woodville's from Tabarzin with Osode's Stats, or keeping the STR+5 DEX+5 Attack+10 Accuracy+10. I'll have both, eventually, but just wondering whats going to be better now.

Remember. Beastmaster. Not going to really be fighting ITs.

Screw you dawg. Osode is all up in your grill for charming. Seriously, nothing beats it.

Well, I don't know. Things might be different for you since you've got A+ axe, but Haubergeon/berk gives much better results over osode in terms of overall performance for warriors.

A- Axe. Even though BST deserves A+ for effort. :(

But the main point is the targets. BST isn't going to be fighting things the same level a WAR is.

P.S. Your Avatar needs to have an animated counterpart, with obligatory Initial D music playing.

I'd say focus on the Hauberk, though, personally, I've just stuck with the Haubergeon since it's great for cappish-type situations.

How much better does it perform than osode, though? Is it a hugely noticeable amount or does it take a parser to tell the difference? Obviously try to go with the best option, but I'm just wondering how much more you're getting out of a Hauby. Also, would osode be better for weaponskills with the 5 more STR and DEX, or does hauby beat that too?

I'll just say that I wish I had your problems....

Personally, I'd get the Woodville's and use the Osode.

No good reason, other than you don't really want to out-damage your pet.

Hauby > Osode for multi-hit WS like Rampage or Jin due to the acc.

Haubergeon is >>>>>>>>>>>> Osode in almost any circumstance, really.

Not counting charm gear and it's obvious Osode is better there.

If you're just going with one axe, get a Maneater. If you're duel wielding, get Woodvilles in main and Maneater in offhand.

edit: I finally actually read the OP.

Keep the haubergeon. Hauberk really isn't any better, and say if you maybe level warrior, ninja, samurai.. more, hey, you have the best chest piece possible from 59 up.

Not to mention other level capped fights you may be dragged into.

You can also form up a BST group and do the BC that drops Woodvilles (pretty commonly, actually) effortlessly.

But I'd still use maneater if I'm just using one axe.

Yes, yes, yes, hauby > osode, I get that. My question is BY HOW MUCH? Is it going to be a huge difference that will be easily apparent, or is it just a minor boost that I'd really only see with a parser? That's one thing that I don't remember anyone actually saying, the extent to which hauby > osode; and no one else seems to know either.

Thanks for the info about WS Drystyn, I forgot about the importance of accuracy with multi-hit WS.

Barring a T-low VT with sushi group. Huge, easily apparent, you won't even need a parser to notice you're hitting, well, quite a damn lot more.

I borrowed a friends Osode once and parsed my accuracy with it and hauby on some VT imps a long time ago, using meat.

Osode was somwhere in the 70s% and Hauby was 99%

That's pretty noticable.

Thanks, it's nice to hear something besides one is better than the other.

Maneater>Woodvilles

Yeah, but not for DW if you're using both.

Woodsville or Guttler(lol) is the only thing better suited in the main hand if you're DW

You can find out here.

Click on the "WS Example" link at the top.
According to that information, Osode is better than Haubergeon for weapon skills, but inferior to Hauby+1 and Byrnie +1. I guess I'll just have to parse it myself when I get both.

Keep Hauberk, buy a Maneater asap. Honestly unless you plan to dual wield a lot, maneater/tabarzin will be fine for the random times you do it. If you plan to dual wield all the time, go ahead and save for a woody too, but get maneater first.
