I moved to SWG sometime in June, here are the Positives and Negative to moving over, if anyone was interested in differences.

+'s
-Character custimization is great, plus you can change it in game from a "job" called Image Designer
-You're playing every job at once.
-Credit's (gil) are easier too make, but not as easy as WoW.
-There is SO MUCH to do, expecially if you're a Star Wars fan.
-There are so many more quests.
-You can be friends and do many things together, level does not matter.

-'s
-Everyone runs on everyone elses lag, so you need a computer that can run at a very quick internet connection (DSL, T1, T3 even) and a good amount of ram to get little lag.
-People aren't remembered as easily, the game is bigger, thus you don't keep as close with people as in FFXI.
-I miss everyone I knew on FFXI

Thats about it, there are probably many more +'s and -'s, though I am unable to think of them at the moment. Goodbye and have fun on your adventures. kthxbai!

I've been thinkin about picking up SWG for a while now. Thanks for the info, gives me a little more to think about. Good to hear from someone who has played FFXI and can compare the two.

SWG is a great game, when i used to play it (the Empire divided) it is one of those games you can play, and not lose your RL.

I want to play this game again though, it seems people have triggered the Jedi slot. :\

Davio just got another +!
not lose your RL.

It's not nearly as addicting as FFXI because you don't have to catch up with people, everyone can do the same things together. I just hated in FFXI i'd take a break for a few days, come back and my friend has gotten 10 levels above me. A whole different demension.

great game

i play SWG up till i started to play FFXI i <3 it. the only reason i quit playing was because my silly dad sold are PC and got a mac to edit movies. i had master bounty hunter, and was working on many other tradeskill masterys.

its a great game the transportation is really cool and the maps are huge. you can start on naboo and be there for 5 months and still have stuff you can do.

I was imperial and had my own base with AT-ST and full tie fighter and other piloting armor. It is also a great game to role play since its Star Wars and its loved by mostly everyone.

You can start the game and basically do missions from computers just killing random things for cash and money. the first thing you should do is save money to buy a spedder. (around 30k credits when i played)

If you need anything elese or need more info about it PM me its a great ass game <3ed it

"Making gil is easy but not as easy as WoW" i wish making gil in WoW was easy dude.... i still can't come up with enough for a mount lol.

Sorry for the misconception, I was only using that comment based on what I have heard from people, i've never actually experienced WoW myself.

Only negative thing i think about Star Wars Galaxies is, your PC neeeds to be really beefed up to run this. 1gig of Memeory, and Pentium4, 2ghz. Even with the recommended components lag is really bad especially in the cities.

its also has lots of glitches that are anoying like you can walk into stuff and get stuck and it does lag pretty decently if your computer is not good like davio said

I played this game for 2months... really good game actually, I liked the system a lot.

Every now and again I get this urge to go back and play it but the only reason I would want to is to be an uber jedi and that would take too much effort and work from just picking up another MMO again so I forget it...

when i played the only way to become a jedi was to get halocrons and figure out which jobs you had to master to unlock jedi. There was 4 random jobs you must master and here ranom for everyone (i think 4 could be wrong. its also changed a lot since i quit)

They now have quests and stuff you can do to become a jedi since they were losing fan base and players cause mostly everyone just wanted to be a jedi. (i was master bounty hunter next strongest thing)

If one of the 4 random jobs is merchant your screwed lol. to master merchant you must set up vendors and sell tons of stuff and craft and do all this stuff. hardest job to master and takes the longest too. around 2 months+

Now why hasn't those children in the FFXI Pride Brigade come over here to bust this thread and ask to move it ? 8) Forgive me...carry on.
