A warning about Nikki

Could also apply the same sentiment to BLM burns, which leaves your Ele and enfeebling magic in serious need, as well as having BLMs that over nuke. Not that soloing BLM to 75 teaches you how to not over nuke.....

Basically the only way anyone should level any job is in a well balanced party of Tank, DD, DD, BLM, Support, Healing Magic. That way everyone learns their place no?

I wanted to say that, but I didn't want to open that can of worms all over again with Lecreuset. He seems at times to revel in the fact that he solo'd Black Mage to 75, which isn't to say it's an accomplishment, but the fact of the matter is that it ends up coming off as a bit of a double-standard.

What I was going to say about that is that

"Most BLM Burns leave you with underskilled Black Mages who blow their loads prematurely in Dynamis, then wonder why they don't get R3's"

Burns of all kinds dampen the relevant "skills" needed to do well in endgame capacities, but that doesn't mean those skills can't be learned somewhere else.

Smn burning, however, has the double-edge of not only not teaching you kiting/hate theshholds/resummoning but also gimps the shit out of your skill. Solo blms at least have the right skill caps.

Closer to on-topic: Whenever I've run into trouble during smn burns (not often, mind you, I think it's happened twice) I've tried to keep peace. As soon as people start pointing loaded guns at entire smn groups, as someone else said, its a domino effect.

One guy ruins 6 people's exp. Those 6 people hold grudges and look to ruin that first guy's exp. That ruins 5 more people's exp. Then those 5 people want to ruin /those/ people's exp... Its a self-defeating cycle. As soon as we stop playing nice, the whole thing's going to collapse. /doomsayer

This'll probably be nothing worth noting in a couple of weeks. Tempers cool, things move on, and smn burns stay lit.

I dunno, for someone to respond with "our party is full" and follow up with "mother fucker" just doesnt feel right. Theres no proper flow to it unless Holyvalor and Nikki already have some sort of history there. Even WITH a history, its not everyone elses fault that one person decided to be a douche. For all we know, Holyvalor was sending a tell to a friend calling them a "mother fucker" and got sent to Nikki by accident, i do it all the time o_O

All in all, shame on both.

No edit button, bah.

Blm burns at low levels can leave skills uncapped, but as soon as you start cooking in ToAU those catch up. Blm also has the chance /to/ skill alot more often than a summoner would. Once-a-minute or so BPs compared to rapid-fire stone/stun/drain/stone/etc in Besieged isn't even a contest; A black mage can cap (or get close to cap) with hardly any effort.

And again, like a beastmaster needing to learn the skills to solo the job, Summoner can't exactly learn to kite and resummon without bleeding it out. Black mages experience the same thing, but its a lot less touch and go. Nuke big, get killed, hold back. Good black mages can learn to adapt, good summoners can learn to adapt, it just takes a shit ton more work.

Good players can be made good, but skill deficits can't be learned away, they take practice. Blm has a lot easier time doing that.

Also, I didn't see myself defending Lec in my future at all XD

I agree with Lyall's post. I was furious to have all my work ruined by this person's actions. I lashed out, blame me, blame human nature. We all do this. There were calmer minds in the burn pt that tried to reason but Nikki was still being a douchebag and not apologizing.

Whether Holyvalor swore to Nikki or not it still shouldn't come to the point of ruining this burn pt. I understand that this is a game, but if there were no rules to the game it would be total chaos and woulnd't be fun. Imagine no GMs and no policies or no structured gameplay ethic. Would you think this game fun then? Would still think it's worth paying to play this game?

Most of the people that play this game I would assume are young adults. And yeah, there are kids that play as well. But if you're gonna be a douche to other people virtually to feel high and mighty, it just goes to show how insecure you are in the real life >>

Will I still ruin Nikki's burn pt if she gets into one? Idk, but it's a strong possibility even when I'm calmed down. But I might just turn the other cheek and forget this fool. I've played this game long enough to see the good, bad, and the ugly and have tried to stay away from the later two.

 Love it!

I didn't solo it, I've soloed ON it and understand the grind.

Maybe soloed another BLM of someone's around, but eh that coulda been for giggles.

I XPed Lec up to mid-40's with Lukas who quit, picked it up around 50 or so with an ex-gf stopped around late 50's, early 60's.

Level synced with friends around then made it to Vunkerl until about 67 where I beat Maat and did Xarc until 75.

Had I soloed it to 75, is still not the accomplishment it was back before WotG camps came out... It still took more time/effort than the old XP parties where BLMs were big shit, IMHO.

About Dynamis: EVERYONE wonders why they don't get an R3.

What Lyall said about BLMs catching skills is on-spot and the skills go by pretty fast.

You even have a leg up if you have DRK, RDM, SCH previously leveled before tackling BLM.

SMN...not so much and there's no other job you can skill Summoning Magic on.

BLMs wetting their pants, I just say a few bitchslaps from Tu'lia Gods or Al'Taieu's Jailers will teach BLMs a lesson about their hate management.

Either that or their name is Dragonx, Zoshe or Tavjon.

ILU DX! D:

Most TP burns give you nothing but underskilled melee who don't know when to hold back.

Missed this.

The skill was more in reference to combat skills that can be leveled up in the game, but a couple people already posted about how other acquired skills through leveling them up, aren't... So I'll leave that alone.

I can argue that being that dipshit in XP pt who doesn't know how to hold back on w/e job can be conducive toward leveling my parrying/guarding/evasion skill. (But I think it's a dumb argument to give because I will agree those who just go apeshit are a pain in the ass, and plenty of better ways to focus on skilling those but I won't say they're ENTIRELY the product of TP burn parties.)

They're just tards who think it's okay to be a burden on their mages or haven't played a mage job to realize the burden they are.

Either learn to use Utsusemi or Seigan/Third Eye quick, or I'll let cha drop like a sack of potatoes.

I agree, PLD having been my first 75 it was a bitch at times to hold back from retarded SAMs, DRKs, MNKs, WARs (to a lesser extent) who didn't seem to give two shits about the poor mage who was low on MP. As far as SMN burns goes, I'm not a fan, but if you have the skills already capped and a few 75s under your belt, not much wrong with it. Especially nowadays that exp pts are pretty much dead (my sch still stuck at 40 /cry).

It IS a bit cheeky to say that burns produce gimped SMNs then advertise yourself for one (either for burning or leeching!) in the next breath ;P

>>"I will flame u on qcdn"

not condoning anyones actions but saying something like that is absolutely not the right way to sound intimidating

actually, it's pretty hilarious

Thought the same thing, saw that and was like, that is a fast way to lose credibility.

Flaming is just something you do, not something you threaten.

I'm quite a cheeky fellow.

When I say "underskilled" I'm not talking about Skill Levels (in a numeric sense).

Just sayin'

People being all bitchy about the quick and easy (read "lazy") way to XP is what drove a bunch of us our of Korroloka tunnel to begin with. Jeska was right about what she said, there was bound to be drama sooner than later, a fact she pointed out to us about a year ago. For us, the drama came from those Absolution scrubs who would continually "farm" for bat wings during their two hour cool downs. Bitches be crazy.

The kids who play this game now, more than ever, could give a shit about how the community perceives them. I call them kids, because that is how they act, when they don't get their way, they lash out with tantrums. Telling anyone that you'll flame them on any website is laughable. It won't change anything.

There is a very simple way to remedy this problem, and I've suggested it for FFIV. Add a reputation bar for every player. Not like the one that was employed on this site, as that just led to unending circle-jerking. One where you basically can give a person an "approve" or "disapprove". You can only do it once per account, not character, and you can change your mind. The more people that "approve" of you, the higher your rep. I think it would be a fair system that people would be more likely to respect, especially if it followed you everywhere in the game universe.

Yeah your leader seems mostly to blame here Mushashi. Best to not call someone a "MF'er" when in a vulnerable situation like Sifade said. I do however sympathize with you because even though that scratch happened with Holyv, Nikki punished the party. Probably not his intention to target all of you but unfortunately it happened that way. I've had several smn burns ruined and know how annoying it is. Just choose a different leader next time.

Past experience with Nikki is that he is a completely greedy asshole who will join a LS and threaten to leave if he doesn't get top priority on gear first. I've had him in a LS I was in, and I've heard about his behaviour in other LS' he's been in. This kind of reaction from him really doesn't surprise me.

Ive experienced this as well, short temper, left my old LS when I got haidate over him even though he was MIA for months prior.

I have had some pleasant conversations with him but they were mostly about crafting and I got the impression that he was being nice to steal ideas to make gil.

Hmmm, maybe I'm the only one with a favorable impression of Nikki. Maybe I looked past some of those things because Nikki truly is one of the better players on the server, and knows what they're doing...

Not being an idiot goes far in my book, haha.

Now that you mention the things about greed, I guess I can kind of see that (why else does anyone join Absolution?). But in my opinion, most people are more concerned about themselves than they are of others. That's just the way things work, and the way people are motivated to do events with the intention of being rewarded for their efforts in the future.
