I don't know what it could be but lately while I'm working at my computer the screen will suddenly turn all black and the monitor will say "No Signal" the onry way to correct this is to reboot. Also the other day I fired up my computer and jumped in the shower. When I came back the screen was all distored and I had to reboot. Any idea what's going on?

In the short term, I would disable the power settings for your display adapter. Right click on your desktop, go to the Screen Saver tab, and hit the "Power" button on the bottom. That should get you to the power save settings. Good luck.

Thanks Crook ill give that a shot when I get home..

Do sounds keep playing? Can you still type?

My old video card did that, overheating I beleive. I had to RMA it 3 seaprate times before I got one that worked for more than a few months (Sapphire ATI 9700).

my guess would be video card too. however, if its a high powered video card, it could be the power supply is failing and shutting it down.

dont rule anything out, but id check video card out first. ;) i had a recent power supply problem that caused freezing and random lockups, and i know typically those types of issues are memory>processor/mobo/etc.

sounds like a power failure, my wifes computer does it all the time from overheating, Currently it fried her memory by doing that. we thought it was the video card too but it wasnt.
is the system completley powering down or just the monitor?

at first I thought it was the system powering down but it's not. I'll be surfing the net or what not then all of a sudden the monitor will go completely black and will say "No Signal"...Someone recommended I vaccum out the inside and get all the dust out. I've had the computer for about 3 years now and never once cleaned it out.

pfft, i clean my computer ever 1-2weeks lol
Blowdust from power supply, radieator (what ever it spells) my 2 graphic card, side fan (to cool down graphic card and had a filter on it) and the front part (where cold air gets in) i simplily clean all lol.

But ya, try to clean the dust out of your computer, very dusty = bad health for you computer, is like you trying to breath air in an area cover in dust, and is very unhealthy, etc, well you get the idea
