Ok, i've never really posted to the flameboard till now, but I just need somewhere to rant, and throw a tantrum ^^;... logged in this morning and got bombarded with tells while I'm afk for tele's and a raise, everyone was nice, but one person, and it totaly killed my good morning...

Did you all know that whm's true duty isn't to heal things and keep our partys alive? Infact, it's to be personal servants for anyone who needs us on the drop of a hat.

Lately our true jobs are taxis or raisers for partys other then our own. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy to tele people if I'm not busy. Also if I'm not in a hurry, I'll go raise people in the same zone as me if they ask... *Ask my freinds about this ^^;... They've gotten annoyed before at my kindness when we've been doing things* but if I'm really busy, I'll send you a tell back with a basic (I'm sorry, I'm busy now.)

Honestly, what's going on? People are yelling at me while I'm in xp partys, because I won't disband and teleport them, then go back to my party. Or stop in the middle of a ZM and run 3 zones away and raise3 someone.

*Sigh.* Yes, it's understandable for low level players in the dunes who are just starting out in the game, but, here's the worst part, the majority of players who take their time to rant and rave at me in tell are over level 65.

I've been getting 1-5, sometimes more, angry tells because I won't teleport people, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, I simply say "I'm sorry, I'm busy doing (whateva) right now, I can teleport/raise you in about so many minutes if I can though..."... and for some reason, lately I've been met with rude comments, even a few rants, on how horrible it all is to get a tele. "What kind of whm are you, don't even teleport." "Are you a noob? Do you even have your teleport spells?" "i bet your a gilbuyer, I offer 20k for a raise and u wont take it" Remind me to pester you guys next time you're in sky farming for items, and I want you to do a random task for me.

Here's a quick example: I'm sitting in bastok, trying to level my alchemy... I've got a full inventory of crafting supplys, and I've got an /sea message saying "Leveling Alchemy, Party: X, I'm sorry, I'm busy." About 20 minutes into crafting, I get a tell from someone asking for a teleport-holla. I simply respond, "Sorry, Busy" and they procede to go off on me for not tele'ing them, complete with cusswords and singling me out, acting like I'm the cause tele's are 1k-2k now instead of 500g and 1k. I'm thinking to myself, *this guy's gotta be either 12 years old, or a total noob.*... So, I do a /sea... rank 8, level 63 pld.... *sigh*

So to that pld and anyone else who's sent angry tells, sorry I can't remember your name, because honestly I didn't care enough to write it down, but whoever you are, yes, I admit, It's my fault. All of it. I've single handedly manipulated the teleport prices, and cause you to have to always wait 20-30 minutes now. So, I'm sorry.

Ya, I know it's bad for some reason... Why? I dunno, greedy pplz? Lazy whms? Just plain busy whms? *shrug* I'm sorry you have to wait 30 minutes to find a tele... don't take it out on me, if you want to whine, please do so here, because nothing kills a fun party like getting yelled at by a random person because I won't drop everything to do what they want.

I myself know that tele'ing is really bad these days, I tried leveling my thf, and it took me 20 minutes to find a tele-dem, and I only found one because I offered 2k, for something that should be 500g.

Anyway, I'm not trying to tell anyone not to ask me for a tele, or raise anywhere, I'll even be happy to raise or tele if I'm just sitting in Jeuno waiting for my static, or a LS event, or just plain bored. Just stop the angry tells, it's annoying. If you're really this displeased with the whms these days, go buy a dang teleport-whatever ring... level your whm, I don't care. Walk. Take an airship. Choco. In that 20 minutes of /shouting for a tele, you could have been there already...*shrug*

Don't sweat it. Not all of us are like that. I wouldn't for the life of me ask a WHM for a teleport unless they were shouting, offering their teleport services. If no WHM is doing that, then I'll make a shout across Jeuno offering gil for a teleport. If that doesn't work, then the absolute last resort is sending tells to WHMs in Jeuno only who are not in parties and have no search comment that would deter me from asking for a teleport. People asking you to teleport them while you're farming in sky?! Wow, now that's ridiculous.
 
Simple reason that tele prices now cost 1-2k... That pld is now charging 3-4 (or more) times as much for the shit he was selling when they where 500 gil.
 
Thank you Akisu. I couldn't have said it better myself. A couple weeks ago, a BST /blisted me because I was too busy to raise his friends in Boy. Tree. He called me several choice words and a "noob", but what really cooked me is he had WHM subbed. He could have done it himself, but chose to flame my ass for trying to accomplish things in game.

Ok, the guy who gets mad for you not having time to do something, he's an ass.

The people who just randomly ask whm to do stuff... that's me.

As far as teles go, this is how I get one in Jeuno (cause that's the only place I ever try to buy one).

/sea region whm 36-75
When that comes up, as the lowest lvl/rank whms to tele me for 1000gil for the 36 teles, 1500 for the 38 tele's and 2000 for Vahzl.

If they are all busy, or send me a /tell back saying "OMG Ican't believe you just sent me that /t, you fuckin noob", then I move on to...

/sea region 74-75 (if it's a lvl 36 tele that I need)
I usually ask Blm first out of this group. They are so suprised to be asked for a tele, they genrerlly are willing to do it just for the novelty of the situation.

If that dosen't work, I grab a chicken.

but never, NEVER ever never never ever, would I get mad at someone that dosen't have time to tele/raise me. If they respond with "No", no matter how nice or rude they are, the response they get back is "</bow>".

I never shout for a tele tho... just a buncha town spam that noone wants anyway. I hate when people the shout for tele's, it gets on my nerves so bad.

Agreed. It sucks and it's the reason I'm anon almost any time I'm not levelling or seeking.

I often wondered sometimes how a melee would feel if I randomly sent him a /tell to come provoke something out of my way. It would possibly be a humourous day. However, oddly enough, you're not the only white mage to have to make this rant and saddly not the last. Generally, when able, I help out many people regardless if it is someone I know or not. It is the type of tell that you described that discourages such. The tells where people phrase their requests into demands is rude.

I often became curious of what the etiquete for giving raises was. Such as when I am in a party and am asked to give a Raise III to a party who does not have a whm within their group. Collectively my party takes an exp loss in order to restore that one person's exp. And same with teleportation.... collectively you lose time doing something that you need to do in order to save someone else the time of getting a chocobo, airship, or doing an outpost warp.

In short, do not stop being kind due to the actions of some. It is just the actions of those jerks will generally stand out most to you. ; ;
 
I was asked for a tele once when i just hit 36 and was still in crawlers nest. and once i was asked to raise someone and was called a "fucking jackass, your a whm you have to raise him you noob" so i just ignored him lol but i always do what i can because i like having my mentor status mean something. but people i don't think all the whms became a whm just to cater to your every whim and need.
 
I used too get yelled at for stupid stuff when I was farming. Usually I always ignored them and kept at what I was doing. If they demand teleports and stuff where it is inconvient too you then why not charge them a high price? Either they will shut up and leave you alone or pay the high price. Most likely will argue but then thats when /blacklist comes in handy.

As far as xp parties go I always tell them too ask the leader and give leader's name when its concerning rasieing people. I always felt that was the leader's call too make.

lol. I've seen it all. I've leveled Whm to 39 and I sometimes do random Tele's for LS and such. And when I do I'm too lazy to change back for a few minutes and without fail I get tells for Teleports. It's annoying and i really hate being /anon because I like party invites when I do get around to changing jobs. I'll eventually switch back to being a Blm but leave me alone. I assume in real life you don't ask random people to drive you to work, you hail a cab and wait for one to respond to you. Think of it this way. Throw your hands up and we will see it in shout. We might give you a Teleport, we might not, thats our business.

As a Blm when Im farming I get random tells for people to give them Warp2's. Its annoying. Sometimes I'll say yes because there is down time in party or they offer me alot of gil(still annoying but for 10k im not as annoyed as someone who just asks). And on a few of these occasions I've said can you wait until the chain is over. People get mad at this, cause they are "paying" for my services. Well, fuck off. I'll warp when I want to and you aren't in my party so I'm busy.

Oh, then there is Dellionhart(might be spelled differently). You shout for a Tele with reward of 500 or 1k and he responds with only for 2k or even more. What an asshole. I refuse to even respond to him even after he then lowers price and invites. He even one day was in la Theine and asked me for a warp, I asked of cource for alot of gil. He didnt respond.

I feel for you Akisu, people just don't get it. We aren't there to always help them. It's kind of the same way in LS. I hate when people message me to help them from LS. Ask for help from everybody, if I can I will, but just singling me out pisses me off cause I'm nobodies personal tool.
 
Yeah dont worry about it.

I think every WHM gets it now and again.This is the reason i only tele my friends now, my general method is to just try and cuss them out more than they cuss me ^^
or if they are really bad you could always just tele-vahlz them (or yhoat if they want vahlz).

I did that to someone who spammed his shout for a tele like 20 times a minute...was most satisfying.

Anyway dont worry about it, it happens.

Oh yeah i forget who pointed it out...but if tele prices increased at the same rate as the other items on the server then teles would be about 15k each.

Start paying me that and i will happily tele you.
 
My Suggestin to the population of quetz: Get outpost warps. In the long run it may even end up being cheaper than a WHM? And get you closer?

It would help if Bastok would control Qufim ... ever ... so that there would be a teleport NPC next to Delkfutts tower, but noooooooooo. always gotta be sandy. (I haven't been on since the points were tallied this week, so I don't know who controls it).

Really great post Akisu. Been there done that too many times to tell. If I remember correctly you are the about the level I started gettin' those kind of tells. Well from about 50-65. The good news is, once you get 75 the rudeness stops. Then they are much more respectful and most won't even bother a lvl 75 for a tele unless they are very desperate. This does NOT include your fellow LS members. They are never rude, but you are their tele and raise slave whenever they can use and abuse you :lol: . Just kidding!!!!!

Don't sweat it too much. Some people are just total asshats. I don't mind doing a tele if I'm not busy, but most people are pretty nice if you tell them you don't have time or ask them if they mind waiting a few minutes.

Of course, I used to drink the "I don't like going /anon" Kool-Aid. Now I'm /anon 24-7 unless I'm looking for a party or specifically in an area to do raises.

I get this shit all the time, mostly when I'm in exp party. Some asshat asked me the other day, "Hey, D2 me and my 3 friends." Sure thing shit-for-brains. Let me stop my party, disband, join up with you guys, drop 600 mp for 4 D2's, disband, re-join my initial party, then tell them it'll be about an hour till I have MP back.

I used to be nice about this, until people started coppin attitudes. You don't have a Warp Scroll, or a Cudgel, than eat shit, your stupid and you deserve to sit there and rot, or die and HP.

As far as LS WHM's go, Jesus, talk about overused, and overabused. It seems like Hillzpac is constantaly runing all over hell to get someone back on their feet. Am I guilty of abusing? You bet your ass I am. A few months ago I got an O-Hat, sold my Scorpion Harness and bought Hillz the Blessed set, and a re-raise Hairpin for myself. Seemed only fair after all the times I've asked Hillz to come and raise up myself, or in some cases people neither of us even know.

When it comes to Raises......Pre RDM Raise level(whatever it may be) I don't really see an issue with asking a nearby mage for a Raise. That is a necessity, unlike a Teleport, or D2. My problem is past 56. Look, if you choose to go out and exp with a RDM or SMN main healer, for fuck-sake, bite the bullet and take the R1. Pestering another Mage for a RII or RIII just to save your stupid exp penalty is just plain rude to your entire party. You chose the RDM or SMN, you knew what was going to happen if you fell. Just fucking take it. If a mage in a party nearby can do it in a timely manner, sure, have at it, but don't make 5 people wait for someone from your Friend List or LS to come and get you up. It's just bad form.

Teleports would be 500 gil and frequent again if only we could get Theflash back. That guy was always dependable! :twisted:

I do have been asking for Raise by my friend to raise them farrrrr away from Jeuno like a 10-20 minute from Chocobo and 30+ minute by running
But I wasn't busy at all and they all my closest friend, so is all good ^^
 
In my opinion, WHMs tend to be the greatest people on this server (I said Tend, there are always unfortunate exceptions). I simply don't understand why people are asses. Something that I have noticed recently to, is RDM (or it could just be me) never get asked for raises in the lowbie areas (Valkrum, Qufim), and I can only imagin how often WHMs get asked.

And I have seen my share of this too. I'm not usually on WHM, but those times that I am (Promies or to tele friends/LS mates) I get tells to run Teleports almost immediately. occasionaly I do, but I agree people shouldn't expect that because atm your main job is WHM and you have more than 36levels you're ready to ferry them to some alternate place.

Overall though, WHMs are aces in my book! When I can, and I see WHMs asking for help, I try to be amung the first to offer. I even got with another friend of mine and bought our close wHM friend Raise III back when it was several hundred k XD. (sorry, I can't do that for everyone. <.<) but if you're doing some quest or AF fight just give me a heads up ahead of time. ^^
