I recently caught the old, 1985 B-movie horror flick Return of the Living Deadhttp://imdb.com/title/tt0089907/ on cable. I've seen it before, and I find the campiness of it fairly entertaining. Afterwards, I decided to do some idle web-surfing about the whole "Zombie Apocalypse" mythos. I was somewhat familiar with the rabid fanbase of Zombie films beforehand, and vaguely aware of the classification of zombie types, universes, etc. The zombies in Return of the Living Dead follow a very different set of rules than so-called "Romero zombies" (which appear in the mainstream Living Dead films), and you might say my interest in the whole Hollywood-generated mythology was piqued.

This time, however, I happened to stumble across this:

In the tradition of Archmage, Planetarion, and many more that have sprung up over the years, it appears to be a browser-based RPG. Now, Archmage and Planetarion were the forerunners in this medium, but nowadays, this kind of online game is a dime a dozen.

What made this particular re-envisioning of the platform stand out most to me is the setting -- a Universe (one city within the Universe, to be exact) in which a Dawn of the Dead-like zombie plague has just taken place on a localized scale, and the scattered remains of humanity in the region are attempting to scrape themselves back together.

You choose to play as a "survivor" (living civilian), "military" (scientist or combatant), or even ... yep, a zombie, referred to by the game as a "victim."

I've already decided to give the game a go, as it's piqued my interest enough to stand out more than the (literally) hundreds of other games very much like it ... my question is, have any of you ever heard of it? Played it?

I'd very much be interested in knowing someone else's thoughts on it.

I haven't logged in to it forever. It's really hard to get started and live enough turns to avoid becoming another of the mass of zombies. They just literally snowball the place.
