Today, a number of accounts which were confirmed to have violated the user agreement by using unauthorized third-party software tools within FINAL FANTASY XI to enable abnormal in-game movement were discovered and have been permanently suspended.

Based on the results of an investigation, over 2,000 PlayOnline accounts have been either suspended or terminated on Jul. 21, 2006 for the malicious and intentional use of these third-party tools.

We would like to take this time to remind our players that the use of any third-party tools will not only destroy the in-game balance, but will also encourage RMT (Real Money Trade) activities. We will continue to take strict actions against those individuals that we have confirmed to have used such tools.

Please note that some of these third-party tools may cause character information to be altered, erased, or personal information to be leaked to unwanted third parties. If you come across a third-party tool over the Internet, we ask that you please refrain from the download of such a tool, no matter how minor it may appear to be.

To ensure our customers could enjoy their games safely, we will continue to apply measurements to combat these third-party tools and violations.

And more importantly which RMTs are gone now? There are reports of other servers RMT farmers vanishing.
 
I'm curious. I use "the program that shall not be named". I don't use ANY of the plugins. No partyTP or anything. This morning before work, I went to log in to check my plants, an during the whole disclaimer screen about work and family, a windows installer screen popped up and tried to install something from FFXI. I cancelled out a bunch of times and eventually got to the character select screen. Long story short, after seeing this, I wonder if that was some sort of detection program.
 
Only about 50 per server.

Thats a bit freaky... but I don't think SE can install anything on your system without you first being able to see the EULA for that application, which you must agree to before the installation can begin. Did you get that far, or was it still in the "preparing to install" stage?

And about 5,000 other innocent people that didn't do anything and were banned for somthing as stupid as w legs.

I got permabanned overnight while I was afk in al zahbi.

Thanks a mother fucking lot you piece of shit company.

edit: apparently alot of people were banned for windower use, also

It's not. Quite a few people who are onry-windower have gotten banned.

Ironically, my account (knock on wood) is safe.

Edit: Tons of gilsellers missing (wishfully, suspended, including the ulli ones D:)
