About chocobo colors

I bet it works like the fellowship npc. If you exp in a zone your chocobo will be influenced by that region conquer. This would explain why alot people got yellow because the exp in the new area and why there are more black one then any other type because Elshimo lowlands/uplands and the Aragoneu regions are under beastman control alot

Since you're not calling your chocobo to exp with you, that makes no sense. Plus, everyone 55+ exp's almost exclusively in the new zones, but there are still tons of colored chocobo's out there. There's no logical(or any, really) reason to link where you exp with what color your chocobo will be.

has anyone triedleveling only new jobs to 10 right outside the city while raising a choco? that could help prove or disprove the exp areas theory.

edit: although now that i think about it, i have just gotten to the new areas recently and both my chocos i tried raising before this point, were yellow.

There is no reason whatsoever to link where you exp and the color of your chocobo, he's just grasping at straws to come up with random reasons for colors.

I'm guessing the reasoning behind this is NPC Equipment changes and regional control.

Though it's completely false when applied to Chocobos since people get every color anywhere.

I've gotten only Yellows, while two others I know have Blue and Green. All from Bastok stables.

I know someone who only did anything with their choco on firesday and it turned out red. Not saying that has anything to do with it but there first choco they attempted turned out yellow and they didn't attempt to make sure they did anything with there choco on a certain day.

It is very possible it was just a lucky occurances and she got lucky but she tried it and she got the color she wanted. Just figured I would share that with everyone in case anyone else wanted to attempt it.

My second choco raising I did the same thing. Nothing but the foods that gave off the fire looking aura and always fed it on firesday. I thought for sure I had a grand chance at a red choco. Came out Yellow so I scrapped the idea but I could have just had bad luck.

well if the areas do matter for my black chocobo i spent almost all of my time except chocobo raising time and dynamis time in the new areas crafting or XPing.

edit: spent my time mining in halvung or pting in caedarva/mamool staging point/mount zhavohlm(sp)

No exp, lvl, nation, rank, equiptment, or similar factor determine the color. I have gotten(from NPC eggs) blues on several of my mules who are lvl 1 no rank and in different nations. Each egg was raised on a single type of food but there was no correlation since I got blues from many different foods and those same foods with other eggs produced yellows.

I think it is pretty well established by now that asside from parentage the color is random. The quest type gained eggs 'might' have a better chance of color but are still random as well.
