Absolute Virtue

Killing AV in 3-4 minutes is downright impossible without CFH DL-scale zerg, and improbable then. And I'm talking nothing but KCSEBW DRKs, mind you. Because it has been tried. And hasn't worked.

AV was designed to be killed. But they most definately don't want him killed yet. Just look at all the stealth updates they've done to him whenever somebody managed to kill him.

They didn't neccesarily make them to make him harder. It might have been that he was broken, and it was possible to lock him in a way they didn't intend for him to be locked, and thus fixed it. What we need to do is find out how SE intended for him to be killed, instead of relying on flukes and glitches/bugs.

Which translates to unkillable, as far as Tomasello needs to be concerned with his zerg ideas.

But yea, I agree with that.

You still didn't answer my question. Why would SE address the way to stop his regen if they don't want him to be killed? Why even present an undefeatable monster in the first place? Why give him stuff to drop if he's not meant to die? It makes no sense to me anyways.

I have a question... did the THF have hate when he saw the message? Maybe it triggers like Killer effects, which would be another reason why meleeing AV alone would not get it to trigger. Just a thought.

They addressed a way to stop his regen so that he'd actually be killable. They just don't want him to be zergable, that's all. God forbid there's an actual strategy to kill him, something other than "throw more drk/blm at it." But hey, if that's all you can think of to kill a mob, they might as well give him permenant invincible on top of the insane regen.

He's not meant to be unkillable, or at least his final form won't be. There will be a trick to it though, not just do X amount of damage insanely fast and hope it actually matters.

im sorry

this post is way too fucking long it makes me wanna poopy

I think we should gather like 200 people, CFH and zerg him. Just for shits and giggles, and to see if he can in fact die after the fix.

Because they don't intend for him to be unkillable. They just ment for him to be unkillable by zerging him down like oh so many other things.

He was solo when he did it, so yes.

First off... When it comes to that statement on "How to defeat AV's Regen" I really, from the deepest depths of my being believe they ment that statement to be about JoL, not AV, and that it was a mistranslation/misunderstanding. Because, for the most part, that is how you reduce/remove JoL's regen.

Marajade said the best statement:
It's a specific reaction to an action within an area, not an additional effect of the weapons themselves, because it changes the workings of a monster within the area, instead of just inflicting damage. (also, even mundane effects like "additional effect paralyze" or "Additional effect, x damage" exist in the dats in a centeral location, just like the new cursed text for the BLM armor.) Its like the message text for BCNMs (Platoon scorpions legs getting stuck in the rocks in KS30)

This is about as clean as you get it.

However.

When you take into consideration:

AV was defeatable via "The wall of justice"
AV was fixed because "TWoJ" was not the intended means to kill it.
AV was killable via locking the various abilities in sets. This was done by killing the Wynavs in certain ways.
AV was fixed because killing the wynavs was not the intended means to kill AV.

What "hope' we can derive form this is that maybe the trigger to lock AV's abilities was misscoded in the Wynavs during that time.(maybe on purpose as a hint to the dynamics)

A hacker free apporaoch would to look at it in relation to the rest of the game dynamic, which I think Uzor pretty much covered, even with the "It happened, But I got no Proof" aspect of it. We will set that aside for a sec.

Notice a couple things:

AV has little to no evasion. People kiting it on mules report they could easily hit AV while they were goofing off on super low level mules.

Some of the weapons are only able to be used in a 'B' rank or lower on the jobs that can use it.

So when you put all that random "Phraust up at 05:00am babble in one statement:

I think it's highly probable that the use of jailor weapons will result in the killing of AV.

The only thing that someon needs to do:
Non-hacker free approach:

Hack every .dat untill you find that phrase, then figure out the corrolation of that phrase and its linking.

the thief went solo after the mob went back to its position, he used perfect dodge so that he doesnt die right there, had Justice sword+torque equiped, as well as virtue stones.

I didnt stay for 5 hours there, but for a good 2 hours i think. But i can tell that after he got the message that he removed an ability from Absolute Virtue, it never poped any wynav again. I didnt see the msg due to filtrers. But everyone that has been there can confirm that it never poped any wynav, which is enough proof for me that he did lock AV.

I think the torques main function in sea is to make it easier for people to hit AV with the jailer weapons. And yes, I don't think they gave him such low evasion without a reason, as he still have rather high defense.

So does this mystery thief have a name, or did he just appear out of the ether to try to solo AV?

Does this answer your question yet?

I'm still saddened that now we've got two reported sightings of this Thief of Justice, and yet nobody went HOLY FUCKING SHIT and screencapped this unknown effect.

Because no one was in his party? If it is an additional effect, shouldn't it only appear to those that ddin't filter it?

I highly doubt everyone went "Let's remove all filters so that we can see this mysterious message he will be given!" right before he engaged him. I dunno about you, but I enjoy not having the battles of everyone around me show up on my screen <.< And I don't exactly remove those filters every time I'm not in a party. I actually filter everythign except what concerns me. Less battle spam that way :p

Im not 100% sure who it was from our ls but i believe it was Jinzo;

I was there when this supposively happened but out of range; thus not seeing it in the chat log. I did get tells tho saying if i saw the message about his powers being absorbed. We have 2 JoL pops so hopefully if it happened once we will be able to confirm soon :D that is if he pops.

oops double post lol.

Ok, so I guess extending on my original question, those that say they have tried and failed at locking AV's abilities with the weapons, did any of them have hate from AV for any extended period of time?

Like I stated above, if it triggers like Killer effects (mobs can only be intimidated by the person with hate), this could account for most if not all the failed attempts.

I honestly have no idea. But I highly doubt one of the requirements for locking AV is to have a BLM or WHM with Prudence Rod tank him for an extended period of time in order to lock his Prudence abilities.

maybe it the capes and torque and not the weapons. could it be the nuking on the correct day was actually because someone was nuking with the correct cape to lock it white mage ability which also most likely stop it auto regen. Also the capes and torque are all/all unlike the weapons which could only be used by 2 to 3 different jobs. On other news what was a thf doing with a justice torque:shok:. It 5str 7 great katana skill 7 scythe. I know quitita got first one in antares who had a thf but got because he was sam. By uzor discripsion i figured it was him, but since he posted said it was not him kinda wonder who it could have been.
