So Justice locks Call Wyvern, which in turn locks Mijin Gakure?

Which weapons could possibly lock Benediction, Chainspell, Manafont, and Hundred fists? All from Faith?...or locking his spells with the Love Halberd?

In order to 'power up' the weapons, you say to kill Aerns. However, I need to add something. Wasn't there speculation of killing certain Jailers (and now: possibly Ix'aerns) to lock his certain 2 hours...and now instead (with your speculation) to power these weapons?

Basically what I'm trying to ask is...Has Jinzo ever dealt the finishing blow to Jailer of Justice, with the sword?

<3 Theories about AV...and remember this is coming from someone who doesn't even have sea access. Take me with a grain of salt.

maybe it the capes and torque and not the weapons. could it be the nuking on the correct day was actually because someone was nuking with the correct cape to lock it white mage ability which also most likely stop it auto regen. Also the capes and torque are all/all unlike the weapons which could only be used by 2 to 3 different jobs. On other news what was a thf doing with a justice torque:shok:. It 5str 7 great katana skill 7 scythe. I know quitita got first one in antares who had a thf but got because he was sam. By uzor discripsion i figured it was him, but since he posted said it was not him kinda wonder who it could have been.

That would make more sense. The torques and capes should be the 'weapons' to lock his 2hours, because they're rare. And considering the capes drop from the Ix'aerns (after submitting the 'deed' to an npc) ...right?

Yes the torque and capes are extremely rare i've done countless fortitudes and have yet to see a fortitude torque drop. Though as it been said the weapon have been tested, and have failed. It could be however be a combo of the cape and correct day and torque and jail weapon equip that causes the lock, that atleast make more since then killing aerns to unlock some mysterious latent.

I don't think keeping him up for 7-8 hours to lock all of his abilities (by matching torques and weapons) makes more sense then just meleeing the Aerns for the Ix'Aerns with Jailer weapons <.<

I believe he had Justice sword and Fortitude torque (+sword skill) equipped. And like Quitita said, the thf's name is Jinzo. And yes, he had dropped party so he wouldn't MPK the rest of us and ran up to poke AV for kicks.

actually he said "think" it was jinzo. Could have sworn uzor said justice torque. Anyway every other weapon that has hidden trigger effect has some type of way telling it is ready. Like a stat running off or being gain while I think you are on the right track, I don't think charging a weapon on nm in different area then the mob pop area is the key and certainly not every AV pop.

I believe every linkshell that has ever taken him down has said they killed sets of wynavs until he stopped summoning them. Then they proceded to take him below 95% health at which point he stopped spamming and was "locked." I dont think anyone on our server has got him below 95%. I know the last AV that was up stopped summoning wynavs but the ls who popped it warped out and didnt make another attempt at him once he stopped summoning them.

Incorrect, in the times that I still played the game, I distinctly remember seeing a Japanese player with both rings, the rod, and the throwing item equipped that comes from AV. Any friend of mine in Fury while I still played can confirm I said something about that, and took a screenshot. Moot point really, but it just goes to show that at least one linkshell on our server has defeated Absolute Virtue.

I know Jinzo really well and i know he won't make something up like that. I was also present when AV was up and he did sneak attack and trick attack and he hit it. He also did Perfect dodge and he pretty much lasted like 1 min playing with him. And no he doesn't have justice torque. Only the sword. Jinzo is in love with his justice sword. He take with him everywhere he goes with his thief. Most time he uses on ballista.

I was kinda surprise with Silfer respond, cuz i could of sworn Hailie told me she got the message of the sword also. But maybe she was referring to something else. I dunno....

For the last time the idea is to kill him in less the 3-4 mins before he uses any 2 hours.... if he 2 hours every 30 secs then whatever it doesn't work but that does not appear to be the case..

I'm sure Benediction is just one of many random 2 hours he can use and not triggered by low hp or something. The faster you kill it the less likely he'll Benediction on you.

To all you "Zomg AV is impossible" people why would SE bother address a way to stop his regen if he wasn't designed to be killed? That's doesn't make any sense.

AV has used mijin gakure on us within about 20 seconds or so of fighting. He seems to use his two hours at will.

Also, Jinzo doesn't have a Fortitude Torque.

I honestly have no idea. But I highly doubt one of the requirements for locking AV is to have a BLM or WHM with Prudence Rod tank him for an extended period of time in order to lock his Prudence abilities.

Doubt, or would hope not? lol. If hate was the case, it would make it hard, but maybe not impossible, to lock these abilities. Everyone knows how to get hate on a BLM. Might be a "suicide" tactic. Sub nin (I know highly unlikely, given AV is a lottery pop), equip weapon, engage, spam nuke (/nin for shadows, to give the BLM a chance to hit it after he/she gains hate). Whm is easy to gain hate on as well, and might be able to last longer then the blm. Again, maybe I am just beating a dead horse, but if your idea of building hate on the weapons doesn't work out, it's the only other explanation I can come up with for that THF locking AV's abilities, while alot of the FFXI community seems to think it doesn't work. Well that, or it's just a very low chance random effect.

You dont happen to remember the person who had them equipped do you? Also i know there were people who used to wall AV and kill him which meant they werent gettin hit at all and just spamming nukes at him. I was mainly talking about people fighting him the normal way and killed him on the main island and not behind a wall.

You're sure it was one of the following items:

Ninurta's Sash
Mars's Ring
Futsuno Mitama
Bellona's Ring
Aureole
Raphael's Rod
Minerva's Ring

Because I have quite honestly never seen anyone on this server with any of those items =/ And I quite honestly rarely see anyone up there farmng with us, and we've been doing jailers ever since they were released. Jailer of Love and Absolute Virtue are rather "large". Jailer of Love is, quite literary, huge, so one of them up, nontheless killed, would be hard to slip by us <.<

It would have been interresting to know, though. Could probably talk to them a bit and ask how they did it, and when.

If it was before we started doing sea, it was most likely walled. I remember hearing about some ls who had killed AV, not sure who. But it wasn't a personal account, just second hand info. In either case, I doubt they killed him on the island, rather they probably walled him, which would make the fight pretty easy if you have enough blms.

It was a wall of justice kill yes. I remember seeing the guy with the items, was a Taru. Cant remember the name though, it was a ways back.

I have seen the rod on a person a few times so it's definetly been killed on this server. I think I saw the rings too but that was so long ago I'm not really sure.
