So I just got off the phone with PoL... Because I been waiting to get my char back for some time like they promised, but when I logged onto my account my password wasn't working.

So I asked PoL, what is up with my password whatever... and they asked me to varify my info and cc info and whatnot, but none matched. So PoL basicly told me they cant do anything, all I can do is file for a stolen account and they'll delete the account if it was known to be stolen.
Which I said was BS because I been talking to them for the past few days about getting my char back into the game. And now they're telling me I cant verify anything, so they cant help me.
And same thing with my Legalus account.

So I talked to a GM friend of mine that helps me out all the time, and he told me al my info was blank and someone hacked into my account and tried to get my account deleted.
Because basicly if you cant varify your info, they wont do anything, because you cant convince em its yours. and when you file for a stolen account, they will end up deleting it and they tell you nice and friendly how to start all over again. summoma b!$#es.

So this game got hackers getting into accounts now too.

I'll probably get my account back because I can definately get some people to get it back for me, but this is rediculous.

I talked to Blazeoffury and he told me how "Cohibu account" also was stolen by a japanese hacker.
Which I'm not sure, he said Matchuu told him that blah blah.

But Point is, we gotta kill these game killers.

I tried getting Cleofis back the other day (my final attempt in 3 months of trying) I was asked for my details. I gave them all, the representative then proceeded to tell me none of the matched. Curiously I logged into POL and went to Service & Support -> Membership. Low and behold all my details where there exactly the same as what I told the SE representative. Idiots!
 
had my account hacked about 2 years ago... this is "areya the sequel" due to the fact that basically Pol didn't want to restore my character for me because of an incident dealing with my siblings in the past...

thankfully I hadn't gotten far in the game back then...why can't account hackers get lives...
 
How exactly would one go about hacking a POL account?

Whenever I hear about hacked accounts I am thinking of friends who turned out to not really be friends after all, or keystroke-logging applications running in the background, nothing else makes much sense to me at all.

Couldn't of happened to a more derservinh.... err hmm.. I mean less deserving person.
 
You can't get ur account hacked unless you gave the information out to someone that backstabbed you or you downloaded hacked copies of legit third party software (that you might normally have to pay for and don't want too) that had trojans or keyloggers in them.

At one point there was a way to get accounts stolen just by knowing someone's POL ID. All you had to do was send this maching an email with the info, and it would some how get it. I kno this cause my friend did it to one of his friends. His friend wasnt returning an item he let him borrow, so he did that found out his password and manged to log right into it and trade it back to himself.

If this is the same bit that hit alla early on last year or so he also managed to share that he was attempting to steal some shit to SE. Most likely narrowly dodged a scam that would've also cost him his account to either a third party or a nice big fat juicy slice of BAN.

yup. i just noticed you ninja edit when i was originally just going to call attention to irony of the phrasing "legit cheats."
 
There are only 2 possibale ways to EVER get your acount hacked. They would need to randomly generate yout PoL ID and your password to hack it by "Brute Forcing" which is next to theorieticly impossibale.

That being said the two ways are you give out your acount info to a non trustworthy person being the first and most obviuse way.

Second is you get a key logger put on your computer by one of the third party programs. IE windower, fishing bot, speed hack, Mr Argus, etc. It is fairly easy for a hacker to put their trojan into one of these programs, espicaily an open source one.

I don't use any of that third party shit cept for windower... nothing that connects and can read my account.

This happened when I filed for Char restore.
I gave PoL my info and I got this going on.
Hackers steal the info from PoL computer. might be people working with pol that sells it to friends, idk. but something did happen.

No one has my info and I have been using same windower for 2 years+ nothing ever happened. just now when I filed for char restore.
 
Well it might be funny but few days ago a guy sent me a message claiming to be my friend (Someone who has been away from game).Then he told me he wanted to try out this hack that would give me 9999999999 gil but i totally refused the offer.I'd rather have my char then lose it all together to get 9999999 gil.Anways becareful and never give out your info to anyone
