Not only that, but doing 3-4x more Omega to compensate for the amount of demand for that gear is just rediculous, even worse that people don't show to the Ultima runs consistently from what I've read. It's not the mages' faults that you have such a major imbalance in terms of gear demand, so stop punishing them over it. That being said, quit being such babies and get your mages some damned Nashira gear. Pretend Ultima drops Homam gear if you need that kindof selfish motivation, I dunno. I'm honestly surprised the mages haven't protested against that injustice being pulled right before their eyes, but then it seems many mages have already quit...and I don't blame them one bit.
I'm suspecting this has something to do with peoples interpretation of Mirewen being bitchy. This seems to be the trend in FF really since the first expansion ever, and is vastly emphasized by TOAU. Mage jobs get their mouths wrenched open and shat in by every single melee job in this game with the 1,000,000,000:1 ratio in gear, and the rare stitches of gear offered to the mage, like Ish said, nobody fucking shows up for.
People can easily interpret a strong confident mage presence as an asshole or a bitch for pointing out that a shells total focus is on the melee class, and it's a leaders job to address this energetically by adjusting run schedules, enforcing attendance to mage specific runs, or taking a few seconds and going 1 on 1 with the concerned party. "Leave if thats what you are gonna do," is hardly an appropriate response, especially when dealing with someone who has been on board for as long as Mire had been.
If I was involved with a shell that ignored their mages and saw someone going /BRD, I would speak up as well. /BRD is not condusive to victory in those rare instances that the shell actually shows out for mage events, especially not for a job as fucking critical as WHM. I can't help but wonder if BLM/NIN would have garnered the same response, or lack thereof in this case, because it adds weak-as-shit ninjitsu spells that the BLM could use like they were Burn.
AF+1 is neato and all, but it really is just a booby prize, the Kirin's Pole of the new generation if you will, when compared to the main gear offered by Limbus. If Mire spoke up, frequently, about the lack of Nashira than more fucking power to her. It's good to know that there are other mages not afraid to call people out on this bullshit.
