Or am I the only one that is taking PUP up as the first job? Any tips/strategies would be appreciated.

I haven't done it as much as I want to, but I would think he's pretty easy to defeat now.

The player side has a huge advantage over him unless they updated his automaton with the new heads and A skill on the frames. I would say prob the best bet is to go in with Soulsoother and Tank both the master and auto. Set yourself up with alot of evasion and use sole sushi. Again i've never done it so im willing to hear what you've used to tackle this feat.

PUP was my first job to 75 as well. I went 1/3 on Sharmahaan.
I don't remember the exact gear I had at the time, but I'll tell you the strategy I used.

Automaton: Valoredge Head / Harlequin Body
Important Attachments:
Strobe - I had my Automaton tank Sharmahaan, just like for ENM60.
Flashbulb - useful as Harlequin Body is the most evasive
Accelerator I and II - again, helps Harlequin Body evade more.
Optic Fiber
Damage Gauge

Other than that, throw on some defensive/offensive attachments, but just make sure you use the ones I mentioned if you use my strategy.

If you haven't done ENM 60 before where you let the Automaton tank Fantocinni, I'd reccommend doing that before this fight as it is very similar.

Items Used: Hi-Potion x10
Icarus Wing
Sole Sushi

As for your gear, make an Evasion set and WS set.

Strategy:
The goal here is to have your Automaton tank Sharmahaan the entire time while you take care of Valkeng. Valkeng doesn't have too much HP, but takes about 2 WS's to kill. Valkeng has access to Shock Spikes and Stun, so be careful. The reason for having Valoredge head is so he can only cure. He only had to heal myself once in the fight, but if he hadn't cured me, I would have died.

How I did it:
I activated my automaton and waited about 1 minute to relieve Overload burden. Then, I put up Wind Manuever > Earth Manuever, waited about 8 seconds, then Deployed Serenade on Sharmahaan. As Serenade was running up to him I put up a Fire Manuever to activate Strobe (I didn't put a Fire Manuever up before hand so he'd Provoke immediately as Strobe will only go off if he's close to the mob).
I immediately starting attacking Valkeng and threw up a light maneuver. Now, in my first two attempts, I had used my Icarus Wing before I attacked Valkeng and opened up with a Raging Fists. As Valkeng gets low on HP, Sharmahaan uses Overdrive. On 1st and 2nd attempt he used Overdrive right after my first WS on Valkeng. I noticed a huge difference when his Automaton was in Overdrive. He was hitting me for 150+ and very accurately, so on the last time I build tp on Valkeng > WS > Icarus Wing > WS and it died. When Sharmahaan used Overdrive, I did too. I'm sure using Sleeping Potions would be fine too, but this way was worked for me and Overdrive never bothered me on this try.
Serenade was tanking Sharmahaan just fine and when I engaged him, Sharmahaan probably had 40-50% life left. It was really easy after Valkeng died and he gave up at about 15%.

Another note: For the majority of the fight, I kept Light > Wind > Fire Maneuvers up.

GL on G5, and I'm sure this isn't the only way to beat him. But as a Taru myself, I wasn't particularly fond of using my Stormwaker Automaton and trusting that I could tank both of them (Soulsoother didn't exist when I fought him). I'm sure its possible, and some would probably say that its better to tank both of them yourself. I've tanked ENM 60 using Soulsoother head and didn't find it very difficult, but I don't think I would've won using the Soulsoother strategy on Sharmahaan.

Wiki says Shiva Claws are nifty. Going off of third-hand info though, you'd probably want some sort of evasion setup as Moink stated.
As with all things your silly ass needs lately, I'll help you out with test/ex gear aquisition. Not ohat though. Never ohat.

Because it's a pain in the ass to get to.
I'd say Blakey provided a really good strategy for you. And he knows his shit, considering he had to do the quest for breaking the 75 cap.

Yeah, I'm going to look into doing that Pulling the strings ENM, I want 66-70 first which I'm slowly getting to. I appreciate the help Xal ^^

I didn't... do anything though. For once.
Thank the other two, right now.

I would say prob the best bet is to go in with Soulsoother and Tank both the master and auto.

Ya... don't do this... I tried it for myself to see if I was right... All I can say is I was forced into a threesome while my Bito-Rabito watched... lol
