Addicted to death? (FFXI related)

Man ; ; I dont know why but lately ive been disregarding XP even more than before. I was lvl 60 with 13k tnl and now im lvl 59 with 7k tnl ; ;
But I enjoy dying needlessly for some reason. I like putting myself in positions where I litteraly have to fight my way out of or die. Thats fun. My LS thinks im crazy ; ; I soloed the RDM AF hat doll NM 3 times and died all 3, but it was fun ; ; Im so dumb though ; ; I got my AF hat now and I COULD have worn it by now but nooooo I just HAD to die ; ; I swear, I think im going backwards instead of forwards ; ;
anyone else addicted to dying?
 
whatever, taking the fall for the team, taking hate off a mob and running off to die for someone else.. how else are we supposed to get a rush out of EXP? i love living dangerously in parties, cannon parties and ballista suit me perfectly.
 
Well, I think it sucks when I die because I lose all that EXP. But when I die protecting people, or for a dumb reason on my own part (ie: Helping out a party with two linked Rumble Crawlers, not thinking of what they currently check as to me...), I usually laugh and say "Oh well". When I die because someone was just being plain dumb (ie: OHAY I DIDN'T SEE U GUYZ SAY THEREE WUZ POP AT CAMP (when we tell the puller 290574785238 times), then I get a little angry and/or annoyed, but not pissed off.
 
ah even though I am in a bard I would rather die than see one of my own party members die. But when I am solo and die I start yelling at my self for being stupid. so it all depend on the situation.
 
EXP doesn't own me suckas. I bloodport all the time, and no, I don't own a bed.
 
If you never lost exp, the game would be easy.

Easy games aren't fun. :evil:
 
You would have to have the other 2 bed quests done (Simple and Mahogany) I am not sure how much fame is needed....but yes, you need fame in your home town
 
lol Dying needlessly is sometimes fun depending on the situation. A couple times come to mind that happened recently. One was a guy named Summoners (who is now a friend lol) was pulling for a party in Boyadha Tree, and a spider popped on the way back to his camp so i start yelling pop, but he had already pulled. So doing the honorable thing, I just voked the spider and ran, having no clue where the exit was or where I was. Ended up dying, getting a raise from his party, and getting a linkpearl to a great LS.

A second one happened in Boyadha Tree. (I really hate this place now, I just remembered that) I saw an NM Funguar named Ellyion or something like that. So I shout and hang out to see if anyone will kill it cause I like seeing people kill NMs. This BST shows up, and charms a funguar and sets it to attack the NM. She goes through the charm and release thing on about 4 funguars, but then ends up getting a link and one starts beating on her bad. She already had one charmed and was about 2 hits away from dying. I voke the funguar and run. Again, I have no clue where I am or where the exit is so I die after running for about 5 minutes with funguars on my tail. She kills the NM and gets no drop, but it was fun helping out. We had a good laugh, she apologizes for me dying and thanks me, raises me cause she was subbing WHM. Good times.
 
IMO dying simply to die is a waist of your time. u put effort into building up a character so u can experience the upper lvls of the game only to throw it away for no reason? gimme a break. dying to protect others i noble and justified. and yeilds rewards in the form of respect from others and potential new friends. dying just for the sake of dying is meaningless.
 
Dying's pretty funny most of the time for me as a BST. It's pretty easy to get the exp back in a timely manner with that job. :) But yeah get a Noble's Bed for the moghancement:exp. I lose roughly 7.5% exp needed for next lvl instead of 10% with the moghancement active. Also (I'm not sure if RDM's can use this tho) get a Reraise Gorget and use it when you get the urge to solo that HNM. :wink:
 
the quest for the extra Mog Safe Spaces requires Fame, but you get the XP buffer no matter what.

Just put it in there, and It will give you Moghancment: Experience, wether you just started the character 10 minutes ago, or have max fame everywhere.
