I really don't see the logic in inviting someone who hasn't established respect and recognition with the community, let alone someone who hasn't even set FOOT into the forum before, to run the whole place. It's just not representative of the people who this guy will have administrative power over. Okay, fine ... he plays FFXI. Does he even play on Quetzalcoatl? Why on Earth would he have the slighest interest in investing so much time into a community he's never participated in, unless you were paying him? ARE you paying him?
I mean, it's like yanking someone you saw carrying a pair of binoculars off the street to govern over a long-established club of bird-watchers.
Are you really that uncomfortable with the thought of one of your own members running the place? Does the fact that the new administrator will have the power to temporarily go against the grain of some of your more ... recent ... decisions have anything to do with the choice to hire a complete stranger?
It's just, I really have difficulty buying that "job experience" explanation. -_-
