During the time that I was playing FFXI (1year 2months) I was using cable..

Since I had to stop playing and moved away... I'll have to start using a different ISP.

Most likely I'll start using AT&T since they're cheap.

My question is:
Does it hook up through the phone line?
If it does, we can still be online and use the phone at the same time, as to recieve calls also?

Basically.. I just want to know if it works the same way as cable.

it does hook up through the phone line, but you are able to use hte phone and your internet at the same time b/c they are 2 different types of signal and they are seperated with things called 'dsl filters' (go figure). as long as you install a filter (provided by your ISP usually) at each phone jack, you'll be fine ^^

bingo with have a winner
some houses have only one phonesocket and then has a spliter (like my house have a main on in the spare bedroom and splits into every room) and u just need to put the adsl on the thing before the spliter as well

The phone works but you have to hook up special static reducers to the phone jack or you'll get a really bad connection when the internet is on.
