why wasn't it good tyrath? it HAD a story and story development. It HAD character development, it had cool graphics and scenes with things attacking and being attacked and whatnot

You're right, it did have a story and story development. But it had a stupid story. I was especially annoyed by the fact that Gaia was in the center of the earth itself(or something like that, saw movie long time ago). It just didn't feel right to me as a movie ;x

It was a good movie, but it didnt really seem to merit the Final Fantasy name. It could have been called just plainly "Spirits Within".

The movie sold well in the beginning because it was slapped with the FF name. Once people saw it though its like ".....wtf...."

if anyone saw the Japanese version(subtitled) of it before it came out, Reno said "yo" way too much.

is it that way in the english version? i havent seen that one yet.

Being fervently against this movie from it's announcment date...I must say I was indeed impressed. Not by the story, but the Music, the action, and the most fluid CG animation I have EVER witnessed.

Asid from that...I found the story dry and unfulfilling...oh well still need to watch it again - very pretty!!

Just a few things about it I would like to point out.

1 ) Tifa is freaking hot as hell.
2 ) The First Tsurugi (Cloud's Sword) Kicks ass
3) Omnislash Version Five owns all (Clouds final Attack against Sephirorth.)
4 ) Mega Flare owns you all. (Bahamuts attack)
6 ) Its Bahamut, not Buhment.
7 ) Cid is a beast.
8 ) The part where Cloud has to jump into the air with everyones help and plow through the Mega Flare is just awsome.
9 ) Kodach is a freaking lunatic.
10 ) Materia is fun.

Im glad I saw this movie before reading anything in this thread. Not saying you spoiled some of the movie but somethings should be left unsaid, but thats my opinion.

it was sold out and rented everywhere in my city, I had to go to a friends house to watch it.

I finally got a chance to see it with my gf, and all the DVD goodies it came with.

It was not epic like the actual game, but it was still really good for a movie.
I liked the fact that it kept true to the game, and was not some hollywood screw up like the previous one.

I liked it. Its short, sweet, and good to watch.
I wouldn't mind watching it a second time.
After watching the making of the movie, I got a better grasp of it. :-D

They truly made an effort to make things pretty impressive w/o hollywood needing to step in.

And we all know how some videogame based movies turn out when hollywood touches them... (ex: Super Mario Bros.)

I will admit FF7:AC's story was simple...but it had a theme.

Its an actual dvd anime, but I've only seen previews of it from the bonus CD that comes with the DVD version. It was in Japanese,...so it may be the one you are talking about.

I'm not sure if the PSP version came with the extras.

If its a full length series, I wouldn't mind grabbing it. :-D
Its possible it may be a full series. They have already done something like that before with Final Fantasy Unlimited.

Actually its Before Crisis i believe. I was reading magazine and it was showing anime clips of Cloud and Zack in a game called "Before Crisis" probably refering to before sephiroth went AWOL on Shinra's ass.

The anime shown on the DVD is Last Order, it was a special feature for the special edition of Advent Children released in Japan. It's not coming here any time in the forseeable future though, so be glad for teh intarwebs.

Before Crisis is the game for Cell Phones, and it takes place 7 years before VII starts, and goes in depth with the Turks, you play as a Turk.

Crisis Core is a game featuring Zack, so I guess it's between Before Crisis and VII. Anymore info is not known, but for the record, that anime that you see for the Crisis Core preview IS Last Order. Why SE shows Last Order for Crisis Core is beyond me...
