I am probably the only person who loves this game, just wondering if anybody else can get past the game play and appreciate the story. Also did they cancel the sequels?

I've been tempted to pick it up despite the reviews because I usually enjoy Orson Scott Card's stories, but hearing you say "get past the gameplay" sorta puts the final nail in that coffin. Heh.

Then again, it's about $10 used, so I can't feel too cheated if I don't like it.

Personally, it was awkward and didn't end up meriting even one more rental from me to finish it.

And yes, as far as I know they've canceled the sequels (I'll edit in the link to the article soon as I find it. Been a long time). Game sold horridly and played about as well as it sold.

Advent Rising is living proof that good graphics, and good story, doesn't mean shit in the long run.

It would have done better if they just made it a book, story was great.

Get it, it is my favorite game story wise, and game play isn't as bad as everyone says. It is just frustrating when you want to do a really cool move and you mess up because of the targeting system, but when it works the things you can do are amazing.
