Howdy folks. Friend of mine is about to join the game and I want to snag her a Gold WP. I have 1 mule which I rarely use. Does having a mule affect whether or not I can get the nifty toys from the recruitment campaign?

No, it only has to be the first character for the invited player. The inviter can have all 16 slots filled. However, you can only get the items on the character that bought the worldpass.

What if they created a char on another server as a test char. And will be moving to our beloved server? This will be her first char on our server.

Nope. Has to be the main handle ID.

Helius isn't my main handle, Brokendreams is.

I had Zakai buy one for me when they were required to pick your server. Didn't work.

I haven't tested deleting the char and redoing, but if she's testing, it's worth a shot. Other then that, I doubt it would work.

Just have her choose Quetz and you're set.

And /welcome to her in advance.

Thanks, for the advice. She's going Galka MNK, cause A: she doesn't want to think to hard when playing her job, and B: she likes muscles. lol

Sounds like you found yourself a keeper :16suspect1:

And if she doesn't want to think hard, this game isn't for her. :banned:

Good luck though.

She didn't like WoW. And yeah, were I not in Japan she would be a keeper.

After 5 years of this game, I can honestly say, MNK seems like the most retarded of all the jobs. Relatively speaking.

Min Requirements;
1. Sentience to play the game
2. Ability to target a monster
3. Ability to hit the attack command.

Yup, that about sums up MNK.

Shitty monks, sure.

Ofcourse, it also sums up shitty warriors. Shitty Dragoons. Shitty Dark Knights. Shitty Red and Blue Mages. Shitty Paladins. Shitty Thieves. Shitty anything really. Hitting a macro to cast a spell doesn't exactly take much effort as well, so might as well say shitty white mages, shitty black mages, even shittier red and blue mages, and shitty scholars too. Range attacks apply there, so hop in the toilet rangers and corsairs.

i thought we had the whole "this game doesnt take any skill" conversation? >.>

lol mnk is not a mindless job XD

and if she likes muscles so much, she should go elvaan, because she probably won't like the limitations that galka race will place on her

We had it, but niether side would listen to what the other side was saying.

My feelings on the subject would be that it does take a lot of skill. It doesn't require a lot of dexterous control as far as actually playing is concerned. What it does require is a great deal of knowledge, and the ability to work as a team.

I mean, any idiot can auto-attack and kill something, but only a skilled player will know the weakness of the mobs they are killing, how to minimize damage taken from said mobs, how to control hate, what stats need to be boosted for what weapon skills, How to ballance acc/dmg/haste to be most effective vs. what you are fighting, and so on.

The fact that every little minute detail could possibly effect your performance down to the weather, time of day, who controls the region you are in, what kind of food you eat, how many of that monster you have killed before, what abilities will be used against you, what unique abilities are needed counteract the abilities of what you are fighting...

If you are a complete idiot, you can't even get to a place where you can fight anything. This game has a very steep learning curve. Anyone who says it doesn't take any skill at all to play this game is doing it wrong or they are jaded.

"I'm that black mage thats makes things go BOOM!"

haha that always made me laugh but u r tru bought certain needs after a certain point in this game but u gotta admit....when we all started our first characters we were like woooohoooo!!! and went crazy wit w/e we could at the first couple lvls
