In order for Vingijard to reset your AF, you must:
- Have gotten it all in the first place OR have re-gotten it all (even stuff you still had) since the last time you reset. Depending, of course, on whether you've reset it before.
- Currently be "missing" at least one piece of AF. "Missing" means "not in inventory, mog safe, furniture storage, or mog locker". Which translates to "dropped, upgraded into AF+1, or stored in NPC storage for a claim slip".
- Go talk to him, pick the correct AF from the list (he'll list off all AF that meets both the above qualifications), and fork over 10,000 gil.
At this point, quest- and coffer-wise, the game doesn't think you've so much as started any AF for that job, and you can do it all over again just like the first time. You will, however, still have any pieces of AF left in your inventory, which leads to this important bit:
You do *not* have to get rid of every last bit of it in advance. However, if you still have one or more pieces, just bear in mind that since they're Rare, you'll have to toss an "old" piece of AF when it comes time to get that particular "new" piece of AF.
For example, say I reset AF on BRD after upgrading AF legs to AF+1 legs. (The rest is all floating around in inventory somewhere, since I only have 4/5 pieces and can't put it in NPC storage.)
- I'd have to toss the weapon in order to get the final cutscene of AF1 to go through.
- I'd have to toss the feet in order to get the final cutscene of AF2 to go through.
- I'd have to toss the head in order to get the new head from CN coffer.
(NB: I'm not sure in the above case, whether you'd open the coffer and use your key and get the *wrong* thing, or if it'd simply whine and refuse to open the coffer.)
- I would NOT have the legs (having upgraded them), so naturally I wouldn't need to toss them to get the new legs from Oztroja coffer.
- I'd have to toss the body in order to get the final cutscene of AF3 to go through.
- I'd have to toss the hands in order to get the final cutscene of AF hands to go through.
