I've been searching all over for a concrete answer, but haven't come up with anything. Say I have 2 jobs. If I've done the AF2 quest for Job 1, but don't do Dark Spark, coffers, or AF3, will that interfere with doing any quests/coffers for Job 2. Will I have to get every piece of AF for Job 1 first, or is there a way to just forget about it?

o.O Good question. You probably just gotta find out the hard way man. x.x;;

In theory... it should work since the key item is a different name, but now what if you had coffers for both jobs in the same place? So hmm... Not too sure.

If all you've done is the weapon, then no.

But I'm pretty sure that if you start the hands quest on a job, you have to finish before you can do another set of AF, since that is the actual quest that starts all of the coffers and the hands.

I also thought that you had to be on the job you need the AF for to get the piece out the coffer.

EDIT: But there's an NPC that can erase the quests on one if you haven't finished I thought.

if you have the glove af quest logged for one job you can not do the glove af for the second job until you finish the first one. all the other af pieces you can do whenever or however you want. this info is from awhile ago and i dont know if they changed it since then.

Ok, I wasn't sure whether it was the hands or the entire set you had to finish, I just knew the hands is the sticking point.

This. If you're looking for a non-hands item, being on the job you want the AF for will make the coffer give you the AF you want.

Thanks for the answers. I've got a long ways before another job is at AF lvl, but I was just concerned about it coming back to bite me someday for not wanting to flag quests and coffers for gear I'll never use.

Just remember even if your hands are 52 you still have to do the AF 2 before it will give you gloves or let you open AF coffers. Learned that one the hard way on thf. Also sometimes the gloves npc is a bastard and talks about how nice your other gloves are instead of flagging the quest. you can open the gloves coffer as any job, but the rest you have to be your job needing the AF. Just remember AF 2 must be completed before you can open the other AF coffers for your job<s>. on a side note AF2 once flagged can be done by any job you have, as well AF 3 <NM fight> with most jobs <war/drg/drk not included> as any job.

Flagging AF hands requires:

- AF2 *flagged* (you can complete it too if you like, but you don't have to).
- No other AF hands quest flagged at the time.
- You talk to the guy as the job for which you want to flag AF hands.

You never get any trouble if you remember to do all of those. For people levelling a second job, generally the point that gives them problems (until they have an "oh, duh" moment eventually) is the third point. Occasionally the second point, but that's more for shortsighted people who cheerfully go around flagging AF quests and then up and quit the job before finishing them. :P

I still haven't quite pinned down the exact requirements for coffer AF. I've done it without flagging AF hands yet, and I've heard stories (which I haven't personally confirmed: coffer keys are a bit annoying to test stuff with, ya know) of people doing it without flagging AF2 yet, or people opening the coffer on some other job. Personally, I go "flag AF2, flag AF hands, go on coffer hunting spree and knock out the quests as available".
