I'm nearing the end of the game, and I realized that there are lots of little quests and things that I have not done yet, so...

My question is this:

After the final boss is beaten and the game ends, can you still run around the world and do other things, or does the game totally end?

I'm just trying to figure out if I need to do all these quests and things before I beat the end boss.

Thanks for any info.

The game ends. There is nothing afterwards. No New Game+, no Continue option. Not even a damn scene after the credits!!!!

I suggest, saving, beat the game, enjoy the story, then if you wish to complete all the hunts/sidequests just go back and do it up.

I'm telling you, with any game in FF, if you go beat the game and see the ending, odds are you prabably won't want to go back and do side quests lol.

When X came out, my cousin was playing it at the same time as me, and I saw him beat it first, when i was near end game. Ruined it for me, and i didn't even want to finish the game, never did.

I so it in every FF. The fact that I have been unable to make myself do it in FF12 has nothing to do with it being a FF.

I'm just kinda preoccupied and losing some interest in video games at the time.

Yeah that exact same thing happened to me in FFVIII. I got to the final dungeon and some time down the road I watched a friend of mine fight the final boss and seen the ending. After that I never finished it.

I like doing the side quests first just because of the fact that I never play it much after I beat it. Only down side is after your done with the side quests you get too overpowered and the last boss seems too easy to be properly considered a "last boss". It takes the challenge out of it but I thats what the hidden bosses are there for. So if you want a challenge at the end of the game, just do the story with no or little side quests. Then go beyond that and do the side quests so you can go up against the much harder hidden bosses. I just happen to find it hard to play again after I beat it, so I just do everything all at once but it's really up to you how you want to play it.

I've played FF7 8 or so times since 97, but the first time I focused on the story. When I got older I went back, focused on the story, and then returned a third time and started doing everything in it. Since then, it's been 'beat game once with story, beat game twice but do everything possible before taking out the final boss'...which also meant that the final boss was like a walk in the park. Did the same thing for X, couldn't bring myself to do it for X-2, and thus downloaded the good ending *cough*. Working on my second run in 12 right now. I might go back and play FF8 again after this run...it's been a while and my memory has grown somewhat fuzzy on the actual story.

Its cool to go back and play the classics. When I first played and completed FFVII, I was only 12, and I didn't truly understand the story. I'm planning to go back and play through the stories and actualy examin the story and the development. Should be wickeed.

yeah ive been wanting to do that with VII and VIII. I remember the main story, but all the small stuff is kind of blurry to me. Been wanting to do that with Tactics too since I was to young to grasp that story which is more complicated than the others. I've already mastered them (cept VIII) sidequest wise, now I just want to see the story.

I <3 replaying a few key video games. Gothic's series, FFVI, FFVII, FFIX (not too much though), MGS, and many others :D

I just started replaying FFVII yesterday and its soo much fun. I havn't touched that game since FFX came out.

P.s. I guess everyones done FFXII by now huh?

You guys are kidding, right? Am I the only one who replays games around here?

I'm not sure where you saw that I don't replay games?

Each game I play, I go through once, without the walkthrough, following the story line.

After I have beaten it, I'll go back through and try to get everything I possibly can, once again, sans walkthrough.

3rd time, I'll use a walkthrough to see how close I came to 100% on my 2nd try.

Sometimes, I make many different save files so I can pick a certain game up at any point I want to.

Balance. We have HP sauce and Irn Bru!
