AIC performs at Decades Rock Live w/guests (2nd link fixed)

It was good, he almost sounded like Jerry Cantrell, but somehow it just sounded off. I wonder how the lead singer from Godsmack would sound if he did it. I believe Godsmack did start off as an Alice in Chains Tribute band.
 
You should reverse the title for the sake of it being more correct D:

Um.. no he didn't. He sounded like Phil singing an Alice in Chains song. I love Chains and Pantera, but that mix didn't work. Sully would not work well with Chains either. Laynes voice was too distinct to be sung by anyone other than him. Pantera is dead, Alice in Chains is dead, Nirvana is dead, Death is dead. Those bands should never do anything else other than stuff that was already recorded with the people that have died way too early. R.I.P. the rockers of those bands that defined my adolesence.
 
Hrm.. I thought it sounded pretty good. Not quite the same but it was still good, and I think he sounded really close at points. Hell I love that song, can't rip him for doing a good preformance of it.
 
Another video posted, same show. This one features the band performing "Rooster" with Comes With The Fall frontman William DuVall, who IMO is the one guy that sounds closest to Layne.
