Yeah...my sister had a similar response lol...she's liking the game alot too.

There was something about chanter wielding a staff and using moves like Kilik from Soul calibur that got me interested...then came the buff/healing aspect and I was sorta like OMG SOLD! hahaha

lol yeah. CBT3 will be July 2nd - July 6th so we get an extra day of "testing" woohooo! You'll need that extra day for the extra 10 levels they're giving us since it's just going to get tougher. Actually you'll need more if you're like me and need to have a complete Green+ armor setup. We definitely need to meet up and do some quests together.
 
Okay, so I finally got around to pro-ordering and got my closed beta access. After the ungodly download time I finally started playing on Sunday.

Thankfully, my computer is able to play the game. It just doesn't look pretty, in fact it looks more like a slightly improved version of WoW (still a plus). I pretty much have my game on all the lower end settings, but I can play it. That's the important part.

I made 3 asmodians on the Ciel or whatever the short named server is but only got around to playing 1 of them. My warrior is lvl 7 and I have to say I really like the game so far. I managed to die only once to a boss monster for a quest I had, but other than that it was pretty nice. I really like the little cut-scenes on some of the mission quests. It's a nice touch.

I'm gonna be saving up/spending my money on getting gradual new computer parts through out this year in order to basically build a brand new computer using the same case I already have. First up is getting a new motherboard to support all this new stuff I want. I want to be able to play Aion in it's full magnificent glory come launch time, or shortly thereafter.

haha yep we're all gluttons for punishment so it will keep us coming back for more. This will be very very interesting indeed. It's one thing to have to strategize in dealing with that behemoth of a Dreadgion and it's Elites, but having to deal with the opposing faction at the same time, holy hell... This will definitely determine the top legions from the rest.

Actually, I think it will lead to the two factions teaming up against a common enemy. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" y'know?

Uzor, yeah one could only hope. The issue I see with that is how would you communicate with the opposing PC faction via in game means? That would involve some coordination outside of game via Vent / TS. I guess what I'm talking about are those dickhead, opportunistic Legions out there looking to rake in abyss points at any cost.

FFXI isn't a serious contender in the first place. Aion has NCsoft backing and an Eastern Asia release. It's already going to blow FFXI out of the water as far as success goes. I doubt it'll get close to WoW, but I can see it pulling ahead of Lineage and Lineage II.

I don't mean team up as in they will join together to try and kill it. I mean that I think it will lead to them ignoring each other to first and foremost kill the Balaur.

According to that post, Heroic and Legendary lvl 50 Balaurs are so tough that they require 6-12 people just to take one of them out, and they spawn 5-10 at a time. As they will most likely slaughter any PC player they lay eyes on and try to claim the fort for themselves, I'm thinking it will lead to Elyos and Asmodians to temporary ignore each other and focus on killing the Balaurs first.

From my understanding these Legendary/Heroic Balaurs grants more Abyss points then normal players anyway, so it might be better to kill these during a siege then Elyos/Asmodian players.
 
will there be pve servers as well or just pvp? i cant find the answer anywhere.
 
somehow doubt there will be servers without PVP. PVP mainly takes place in The Abyss though, so don't think it will be an issue.

so there are currently no pve servers? im not asking for myself, i have no problem with it at all, but a friend of mine might/might not join depending on pve only servers.

Don't believe there are any purely PvE servers in Aion, no.

she hated pvp in wow and would like to avoid as much of it as possible, but ill make sure to let her know what you said.
