Fact is, I was sitting in my mog house, and this guy sent me a tell, asking if I wanted to do assaults. I get annoyed when people do this shit, but I only started fucking with him because he didn't stop sending me tells, arguing that it wasn't. The OP is way biased, and that's not entirely the conversation that actually found place.

I told him that I thought what he was doing was rude, and that he should just keep shouting, yet he kept sending me tells. So I pushed a few buttons and had a little fun with him. He threw the usual 'omg geek its just a game dont h8', where he then next proceeds to post it on a FFXI board.

the bolded text is the kicker. just how is Honcho supposed to know that? hmm? we aren't mind readers and people aren't color coded for when they are annoyed by certain acts? a more mature action would have been to simply say no. then there would have been no room for egging on. i always say the best way to fix a problem is to never create it in the first place.

As previously said, if I wanted to do something like pickup assaults, I would have probably sat in Whitegate instead. I'm sure it works for him, and that some people actually do respond, but it annoys me when random people contact me because they want something.

If someone was interested in whatever you're shouting about, they'd respond to you. If they're filtering shouts or in MH, then they're not interested are they? If you want to push the boat out and ask random people, don't expect courtesy in response. And do not by any means persist to ask them if they say no, which seems to be the case here. And if you do, you had better be ready for a rather annoyed response.

I've played this game for 3 years, and I've gotten around 3 of these tells overall, it's hardly a big issue for me. Doing something as stupid blocking tells, I don't really care to do.

I guess this thread succeeded in showing readers that not only (assuming the OP is telling the truth) is the individual in question rude and unpleasant, but also not to expect any courtesy from you in the slightest, if they were to inconvenience you with a /tell in a game where your only means of communication is... by typing. Like others have said, it takes more effort to type your rude/mocking response than it does to simply ignore the sender. They keep sending the /tells? /blist add "Name". I bet that sentence is shorter than any response you would have conjured up.

Aka is very helpful ingame but only if you have the curtosy of befreinding him first. He puts alot of time into helping his mates ingame. And is also a very good and knowledgable player.
Just like in real life you wouldn't walk up to a stranger and ask him to come help you unless it was some sort of emergancy.
ITS RUDE. So don't expect curtosy in return.
We've all been there when you have 5/6 members and need another. Christ iv'e waited hours sometimes. Other times i give up. But if i can't find enough by either
1. Shouting
2. Asking from my friends list (And this is only if i think they need said event themselves)
3. Asking linkshell
4. Search - Comment - battlefield/mission.
If that exhasts all your options either quit or carry on with 1-4. That's what they are there for. Don't be an ass and ask random people.
