I have the Kingdom Aketon from rank 10 San d'Oria. Recently I switched nations to Windurst. When I'm in San d'Oria, I don't seem to run any faster with the aketon on than I do without it. Maybe it's just my computer or I'm just not noticing it. Has anyone tested or does anyone know whether or not the movement speed effect works if you're not from the nation that you're wearing it for?

Well I had a Bastok aketon a while back, from Windy here, and did not notice a movement speed increase at all while I was wearing it in Bastok, so I sold it, but I definitely notice the speed increase on windy aketon while I have it on in Windurst. So I think SE needs to change the description on them from +12% movement speed in "w/e nation" and only if you're a citizen of that nation.

I believe this is true, I wore a sandy one for a while while being sandy. When i switched to windy sandy didnt work anymore. I keep it on my sandy mule now =P

I'm still curious how the cost of these are justified.. if anything it should give the movement speed in ALL area's controlled by said nation. Paying 56,000CP for a trinket isnt really worth it.

I bought my aketon from Kyrial, who was looking for some gil to buy a piece from the blessed set. Since my character lives in Windurst (you'll very rarely see me in Jeuno), it was worth it to me. As for CP, I never use them so 56k is a drop in the bucket. The only time I ever used CP was to buy my Master Caster's Bracelets.

This is mostly my opinion on the matter.

It's more for pride of your country, and respect of your rank in that country. At least that's what I think.

As for it being justified in price? It's a Rank 10 item. You choose to purchase it at that price. No one twists your arm. It's only for in town anyway, but then again, people spending 100k on a stack of silk thread two weeks ago was something I thought was not worth the money.

I kind of figured that it was only if you were under the nation anyway, being a rank 10 item, and having the name of the country in it. Think about it, quiet a few pieces of armor say on it "Citizens of <nation>: gain +<stat>" it's safe to assume that was the intent.

My justification is sound. I'm windurstian born and raised, and I would find it a privilege to wear my nations Aketon around even if it didn't have the movement speed increase. But then again, I'm a Role player at heart, so i guess to each his own. ^^;

I do see your point on making it so that it's in reagons they control, but... I still think it's fine just as is.

I'm usually always in Windy too a lot of the time, or Jeuno, mind you, I was lucky so far that I didn't have to buy the aketon, one of my friends let me borrow hers for however long I wanted to keep it since she said she won't really need it.

Another reason you'll see me wearing mine even when I'm not in Windurst. I /salute you, sir.

Should report it as a bug, since the item description doesn't fit its effects ...

Yeah.. I beleive you have to be (r10, yes, no? I've only wore while r10) in the country, and be a citizen, relating to the aketon and only in the city, where you get the speed boost, but yeah, it actually gives you the boost if you fit those requirements.

You don't have to be rank 10 to get the effect. You have to be a citizen of the nation, wear their aketon, be inside the nation and have signet. If you have a Bastok Aketon and then change to san d'oria, the aketon will no longer work until you change back to Bastok.

Don't need signet, or my san d'orian mule wouldn't have gotten the bonus. (rank 1 mule = no signet ever)
