Shy, help me, I can't rate him down again yet, and the stupidity is hurting my delicate senses.

I rated him down a while ago too. I almost never rate people down but this one is particularly worthy.![]()

I'm bored, so here goes.
ECONOMICS FOR THE MENTALLY CHALLENGED
Class is now in session.
Gil is not real currency, but it has some similar properties. For example, it has no intrinsic value. It's only worth is what it will buy you. If you move someplace more expensive (Quetzy in this case), it buys you less and you have lost value. So any gil that Alecto brought with him has essentially become less valuable (ie, he actually lost gil in a sense).
Buying valuable, easy to sell items was only smart in that it was most likely a value-neutral move. For example, the ratio of the cost of K. Osode to other end-game gear is most likely going to be roughly equal even across other servers. By buying it, selling it, then buying other items (which is the entire purpose of gil) he simply avoided losing gil when coming to a more expensive server. The only exception to this would be if he did a careful analysis of the value of the items he planned to bring and sell, compared to the items he planned to buy, and therefore could probably make some modest increase in the value of his gil. Anyone else here have a hard time believing that someone who doesn't even understand punctuation is capable of doing that analysis?
Now, you could also buy some nice stuff, pay $25 to move to a more expensive server, sell the stuff, then pay another $25 to move to your old server. Personally, I wouldn't waste the $50 on a fucking video game. (I remembered that I was on the FB and hadn't used any swear words yet. Oversight now corrected.)
Now, call me crazy, but what I would have done is just sell everything of worth on my old server. I'd then take the gil to a new, cheaper server and then reap the benefits of my inflated gil. But what our new friend did was:
Step 1. Move to more expensive server.
Step 2. ?????
Step 3. Profit!
