All day wasted, that's right I said it.

Today I spend all day trying to level my NIN. Well I seek get one pt that is wasted watching people die trying to get to tower camp in Qufim. Then I seek for 2 hrs after being in a 2 hr pt that lead no where. So I logged. Logged back on. Was seeking for about 15 min when I get invite from a WHM, sorry I forget the name.

I get out into Qufim, the pt is great. 2-3hrs in a pt like that would finish Qufim or most of it. Well about 30 min into it my phone rings. It's work calling me in to work my 2nd thrid shift in 2 days.

I have to go, no getting around it. It's BS, really, it is. So I had to leave basically w/out warning, to those in the pt I apologize, sincerely I do. I hope it continued to go well for you.

I guess this really isn't a flame, just me venting lol

FFXI is where I come to relax when school/work is done. It's a hobby. I'm sure just about everyone who has bills to pay understands that when it's time to work, you have to go. I'm sorry you missed out on a good party, but remember it's Qufim, your party could have gotten undead aggro, so all have to hp, then two people get killed again trying to get back to camp, then one quits, then everyone stands around while you find a replacement, you get a replacement who doesn't have a map of Qufim, you go out to get him and he gets aggro from a giant, cusses you out for getting him killed, then hps and quits. I could go on, but by that point I'd be crying lol

Sorry to hear =/ Though regarding the seeking thing...it seems to be a problem at most any level nowadays, for some reason. Hopefully it'll get better for ya though, with NIN being so popular and all.

FFXI is full of senior citizens.. there are usually more 75's online than all of the other levels put together. There just aren't that many people xping level 10-70.

Right now there are

777 level 70-75
94 people 64-69
51 people 45-50
61 people 10-15

Say you need a 45-47 whm for your party. Right now there are three online, one is leading a party, two are in parties. Pick up parties can take hours for any job these days.

The reason? Most people are level 75 already. Two things make this problem worse. Reason one is that there is not a steady influx of new players. Reason two is part of the cause for reason 1, the majority of experienced players are pretty much totally intolerant of new players. I'm not saying everyone is harsh. While levelling kinkywinky, I haven't had a party that has had a new player that didn't get treated rudely for trying to learn the game. Why would new players even bother with this game? I know I wouldn't.

Don't really think someone being 75 already makes much of a difference since they can change jobs on the whim...though I entirely agree, there aren't nearly as many people in the lower level ranges as there used to be. Worse yet is that people are really obsessed with just hitting 75 so many just get PLed as high as L40 just so they can skip the "slow XP" phase. =\
Damn I miss XPing in Maze/Korroloka.

I have these kind of days a lot. And it makes me angry, lol.

I treat FFXI as a hobby, as Kinkkerbelle does, but even hobbies can make you angry sometimes. I die a lot in the game, and it doesnt bother me. Ill go and fight something I know will kill me, just to have the experience of fighting it, and to know how much I can hurt it before I die. Tried it with Amemet a few days ago lol... Got him down to 60%-ish on DRK/WHM...

Anyway, yeah... I know how you feel. At first you think you just arent having much luck in the game, then RL starts to affect it. Argh!

I miss the old days, when dunes, qufim and yhoator, etc. were full... Annoying, yes, but it was also lively, and party invites were just around the corner. Now its just cold and dead in all these places.

Yeah worst part about being called in Last night was, Sun2p EST - Tues 8am EST no sleep. Good part is I sleep like a baby when I finally did. I even missed my alarm clock lol.

didn't even make it a full month huh? when i made my "last post" i at least stayed away for a year and a half, lol. anywho, welcome back, haha.

EDIT: back on topic i suppose. since coming back, i've found low level parties to be a complete bitch to try and find. I've solo'd 3 jobs up to 21 now because honestly, its easier/faster to spawn rape EP mobs in ghelsba outpost rather than sit for hours lfg twiddling my thumbs. I'm not sure how the 20+ party situation is, but if it's anything like pre-lvl 20, i may was well just settle in for the long haul and solo my way to my AF gear, lol.
