I just picked up this CD and must say, they have done it. For a band with such a household name in the rock/metal scene they definitely did not disappoint at all. Not to mention they went for a heavier more sinister sound like on their first album and have pulled it off wonderfully, The power of the nine has returned!

I can't really say anything about the new album yet, I've just always been content with "Iowa". I guess ever since then all the soft stuff started coming out, masks came off blah blah typical complaint, I just wanna keep them in my mind as raw as they were on the first two.

Haven't heard the album yet, but I like Psychosocial.

Slipknot has never been one of my favorite bands, Corey Taylors clean vocals sound like a flaming faggot punk singer trying to be in a metal band. Other than that, I like Slipknot.

too say corey sounds like a "flaming faggot punk singer" is pretty stupid..metal isnt just screaming and he can actually sing pretty well..but what do i know..go back to listening to cradle of filth

This is music?

Screaming, grunting, wailing on their guitars, nearly indecipherable lyrics (this is probably for the best), etc.; metal is honestly the most banal shit I've ever heard in my life.

But I always say, music is like religion... everyone has their own opinion and no one is right.

The vital difference is that, quite clearly, not all music was created equal. Differing religions is really just a "pick your own fantasy"-type deal.

I don't like Cradle either. That high pitched wailing he does is annoying.

I just don't like Corey's clean vocals, I'm not saying he can't sing well, I'm just saying his voice irks my ears in the wrong way.

hahah are you kiding me? go listen to the new new kids on the block cd..im sure thats perfect for you. honestly i didnt like the heavy stuff when i first got into metal but it grows on you and your always looking for something alittle bit more technical as time goes on. you probably shouldnt reply too this thread if you dont like the music..and ill stay out of your new kids on the block thread.

Nope, but I'm definitely with Necrosis on this one. Thankfully, I'm quite happy with the music that I listen to -- so yes, to answer any future questions, I'll stick with my alternative and rock.
