SAM... ok, this one might be relatively simple as well. Memorize the skillchains that do the damage (not necessary, but definitely bonus points), and spam your Meditate macro every... what, 3 minutes? Still, SAM is often asked to pull if there's no THF or RNG which can be a bitch, and memorizing multiple skillchains is a fuck of a task.

I'd just like to point out yeah.. we gotta memorize the skillchains, but no, theres alot more to meditate then just hitting it whenever the timer hits zero, If you do that you waste tp alot and end up without enough tp for a skillchain occasionally, having to do sometimes two skillchains per fight a good samurai has to time their meditates to maximize the ammount of TP left over after a skill chain , for example , My AF helm which i sub in for eq swap macro with meditate and af2 gloves both enhancing the effects to give 140-160% each meditate, Now , If i'm at 60% tp and i hit the macro, i usually get one sword slash or two in before it reaches 100% , so itll go like this .. 60% -> Meditate -> 80% hit target 96% -> 116 % -> WS -> then the Tp will keep building since meditate hasnt dished out its full 140-160% yet, it only gave me 40% so theres stilll more tp to come, i can get in two more hits and still have TP left over after that for an additional third weaponskill. i can get in two hits after the first ws before i reach 100 and i usually have 40% tp left over AFTER my two ws's . Sam is far from simple. FAR .. from simple.. geez..

Cmdr that's not completely true. SAM doesnt have mobs show up on radar. It's impossible to pull as SAM if you can't judge distances of mobs and aggro distance with at the effect of radar. I as a GAL SAM do occasionally have to provoke so the tank can feel some comfort of relaxtion if their HP is low. Or a poor little mage is getting the crap beat outta him. SAM is much more than meditate every 3 minutes. Leveling off of Gobs would suck if it werent for Tachi: Hobaku because stun is a late game spell is it not? People have been grateful I lack SC when we fought gobs and stunned the buggers bomb toss saving the party pretty much. SAM is like DRK if you can't find one it can stun in heavily needed situations.[/quote]

Stun is 37 for Drk and 40 or so for Blm... that's not late. Sam using a stun WS is a waste, and if you've ever invited a Sam for that reason alone then that's a waste of party space.

True that, before lvl 37 gob bombs shouldnt even be all that devastating. If you invite a sam so you can spam stun ws...uhh...bad pt >_>

Stun is 37Drk, 45Blm. It's about midlevel really. Whatever you consider the spell, it's definitely a plus to have as many capable stunners as possible. I can't count the number of times as a Blm, that a gob launched a bomb as I was casting another spell. Paladins don't usually think of using shieldbash or that stun weaponskill (flatblade?). If a samurai (who I can also say I've never seen try to stun a gob) can add this to their repertoire of pt uses, that's a great thing.

I can tell you one thing, i can count the numbre of times ive used hobaku on one hand.. Its definately not worth it, gob bombs RARELY wipe a party ,and the TP used on stunning mob would be better used on a WS or skillchain dealing damage to kill the mob before it gets a chance to bomb toss.

Hm.

My only beef with RNG's whining.

"Cry baby melee's fault"

I felt bad for RNG before that comment as made.

If "Cry baby melee's" got their way. DRK would have more accuracy and DRG could deal more DMG.

It took me a while to get used to it and to be honest the rng ners is not that bad, I get tireed of ppl complaining about it but why in the hell do they call it a RANGER that implies attacking from a range. its the way it should have been in the first place. Yes im am very annoyed and pissed that I got it to 60 and now its not such an easy job to lvl but still is the easiest job to play in this game. Like previous post in the thread melee still had a lot harder job to play than rng as a rng you just sit back and shoot thats it and thats why rng cost so much money. This is completely fare to everyother job those job that requre more tactic do more damage and I have no prob with that. O fuckin well I still wont be happy till they make ninja so they cant tank for shit cuz ninjas are suppose to be even more stealthy than thfs. So to sum it up no I dont like the rng nerf but it evens the DD out from job to job so im gonna happily play rng and still kick as much ass as I did b4.

Why are you so offended about being called a cry-baby melee if you arent? Unless you're saying that you are... in which case, yes, you did contribute to the nerf.

Are you seriously suggesting that you can't pull because you don't have widescan? Hell, I pull as a Drk ALL the time. You don't have to have WS, you just have to be resonably intelligent (I know that's a stretch sometime). Almost every job has a stun type WS, you aren't special. Hell, some even have JAs.

I asked because if you aren't then why are you complaining, rather, why should you care what others say? It's the intarweb kiddo, get used to it.

I'm offended, because that is a generalization. Not because I'm a cry baby melee.

So you're a crybaby melee? I don't see what the problem is.

Neo FTW...Getting offended over a game FTL.

This nerf is the great equilizer, now all DD melee are crybabies.
