Well, I went to check on my bird today, and it seems to have grown up, I'm pretty psyched about it, it's nice that I can do more than just take it for a walk or have four choices of care plans. It's feather tips are white, so I'm going to assume it'll turn out yellow.

Anyway, I took it on a "regular" walk and ran into three rude NPCs raising their own chocobo. After I got back to the stables I saw the choice of "Compete against other chocobos" and I raced with them. My bird won ^^. I was very surprised, my bird has all poor stats still. Told it some my Key Item story twice nothing happened. Any of you guys have anything interesting happen?

I took my bird on the longer walk twice, after reading to her a few times. Kinda sad that I could not get her into a race today, because of the whole 'no more energy' thing.

How old was your chocobo when you were givien these options? Because mine is going to be 18 days old and she looks exactly like she did the day she hatched and I still only have the two options.

I think for the race you need to meet those three guys on the "long" walk. Did you not see them? Maybe it's like running into the NPC that gives you the story, just based on luck, and I got lucky.

My chocobo is still under that sleep bug thing ; ; can it still grow while it's under the bug? i mean it hates me and is starving now so i dunno

No reason why it wouldn't....... after all everything else grows in its sleep XD

Tip on waking the Chocobos up, if they're stuck in Sleep mode, is to set your care schedule to "Take a Walk". The sleep thing isn't a "bug", the Chocobos just continue on the same schedule, until you change it..and "Basic Care" can be done while asleep, so it continues with the sleeping. If you change the plan to something active (the walk works, I'm not sure if the music does, but I would think it would). It worked for me and a friend of mine, so it should work on you too.

Exactly. There's no "bug." The only "bug" is with people who don't understand how the admittedly poorly-explained care system works, and with people who don't even try a bare minimum of experimentation to fix it on their own.

The key to getting your chocobo to wake up after one day is giving it something to do. I used the Rest care plan twice, and after hearing all of this panic about the alleged glitch, I could only come away very confused that it hadn't happened to mine.

As it turns out, the reason was that I had always carefully planned something active for each individual day, up to four days into the future. I never just stuck it on "Rest," and left everything as basic after that.

Yeah, if it was a glitch, there'd have been a known issue announcement about it. But there never was. People need to get their panties out of a bunch, and actually learn how to use the system instead of cry and ask for help every 5 minutes.

You know that's funny because mine was on the take a walk plan for 3 days before it woke up. Maybe it's just a sleepwalker.

Well, while its not a bug, I think its possibly still an error in the way the code was written. It doesn't make much sense, that the Care Plan would continue to do the same thing every day, unless you changed it.

I also don't understand why its doing anything for days you don't tell it to set the plan for something..the system was (as I understood it from the in-game explanation), more or less for when you're unable to log-in, or get to your Chocobo, to care for it, not something thats supposed to happen every single day. Thats another reason people are probably getting confused, though.

Unless you change the plan, like..right after the last plan ended (24-hours after it started, right when you'd get the daily report), you have to wait at least a day to get the next plan you have signed up for. If you had any extra plans set up, you'd also have to wait for that, so thats a possibility. Other than that, I don't know, it took me 2 days to wake mine up, because I changed the plan too late in the day.

Ha, go figure, when i saw the advice you gave me i went to check on my chocobo, it's no longer a child ^^ it's on day 19 when it grew up.

I changed my care schedule too, it should wake up now, thanks for the info

I kinda miss how cute it was as a baby though

Mine grew! :o

She has white feathers, and we owned the face off three Hume's who we bumped into in the canyon.

I was feeding her vegetable pastes, aught I change diet now? And what to?

anybody have better than "poor" in any stat outside of affection?

Mine's endurance is "Substandard." The only care option i've used is take for a walk (unless it was sick i had it rest).

Hurrah! My choco grown to "Chicken Tenders" status.
