Just feed them the Greens/Carrots/Worms straight. They love Azouph Greens and San d'Oria Carrots (haven't tried any worms yet), they'll fill up completely from 2 of them. As for stats, I have no idea whether either of those boosts anything, but I'd imagine they don't.
 
Mine has black feathers too and they say it is fit for military use!

All this talk about how the sleep bug isn't a bug at all, acting like people are morons for thinking that. <.<;; All I know is set my care plan to rest for one day, then had it on take a walk for a couple days after that, but even though it was going on walks and stuff, it was still asleep and wouldn't wake up. It kept going on walks, but it was starting to hate because I couldn't feed it. Every time after a walk, it'd go right back to being asleep. So... maybe you didn't get stuck in a glitch, but don't act like anyone who did is just some moron who didn't know how to do anything on their own. -_-

At any rate, I just said fuck trying to fix that, and started over. My new chocobo is better anyway. :P
 
Last night (day 20) my chocobo got restless. It looked like it was having a non-stop seizure, it was a little disturbing. I was w and the galka choco-guy said to have it compete against other chocobos. Raced against those guys four times (used a chocolixer), I hope that does the trick. Does everyone else have their teen birds with white feather tips? I'm thinking it means yellow, and I'd bet if everyone else does, that's the case. Too the guys with black tips: congerats ^^
 
My Chocobo also has black tipped feathers it seems, I think it depends on the eggs perhaps? I bought the most expensive one in Jeuno from that NPC. I was focusing on it's mental attributes, mainly reading to it and taking it for walks almost everyday and feeding it only gyshal greens. Now that it's a teen I've set it to play with children, seems like my chocobo has a good tempermant, just poor in every stat though. It did win that race against the 3 NPC's though. I'll post a pic of it once I get out of work, anyone else getting the black one with a bought egg?
 
arggh yellow with black tips doesn't mean black chocobo. theres an actual young black model.
 
Ah, I guess I was wrong then, dunno, anyone have a picture to post to compare it?
 
They never said color changing wasn't going to be implemented, they said it's appearances changing due to it's stats wasn't going to be added first, that refers to it's beaks/claws changing or whatnot. They said color changing was going to be available at start, 3 colors at beginning, with more to come in the future.
It was stated in the June 19 Topics that a chocobo’s appearance would change along with its attributes. Due to an extension of the testing period, these changes will now be implemented in a following version update.

Colors
Aside from the familiar yellow, we will be introducing two new colors for chocobos. We invite you to try chocobo raising for yourself to discover what colors are available. Additional colors will make an appearance in subsequent version updates.

Appearance
The appearance of your chocobo will change depending on the attributes it acquires. These changes will affect a part of the chocobo, such as its beak or legs, rather than change its appearance entirely.

If they had meant colors they would have said colors, not just "appearance changing along with attributes", which refers to parts of the chocobo changing depending on the stats. Least that's what it seems to me, we'll see in 10 days when choco reaches adulthood I guess.

There was a picture posted here not long ago, of a sort of timeline of chocbos, or heiarchy. In the front it had the chick, in the middle it had the "teen" ones, and in the back were the full grown ones. I belive someone made the picture using model viewer. Do any of you guys know where that image is? My model viewer is busted, and I've been unable to locate the post or image.
 
Well some stories aren't from other towns, I had my choco compete again against those 3 npcs and their choco, I won again and this time one of them gave me story of a happy chocobo because 1 of the npcs was telling it to their choco and it "clearly" was giving the choco racing problems.
So now I have story of a youthful and happy, wonder how to get the others, aside from raising another chocobo in another city.
