Altanaview Model Viewer

This is only available if you have playonline installed on the computer... I play on the ps2 ><
 
Question for you guys that use this often: Do you know if there's a site to go to for updates on gear/npcs, etc? I downloaded this version of the viewer and I seem to be missing an awful lot of gear types, especially the newest ToAU ones. Did I maybe get a bum copy or something? Or is it as simple as downloading an update somewhere?

Yes, you just need the .dat files. But those take up most the FFXI space anyway...I'm sure you can search around the www and find a place that has them all.
 
quick question... how do I get the viewer picture into photoshop or GIMP? I tried copy and pasting but it just gave me a black screen. I'm kinda new to this ^^;
 
Print Screen. It'll add a picture of your current screen to your clipboard, which you can then paste into photoshop/paint/what have you.
 
Okay thanks, I had tried that before I guess I just did something wrong before, works fine now though.
 
Anyone know where/how to get the new WoTG content in Altana View yet?

make sure you press Alt+Print Screen while AltanaViewer is the active window so you dont copy your whole screen.

Where do you find the Altanaviewer updated list?
 
Altanaviewer updated lists can be found on ffxidats.com (parts of the site is down atm due to a server move, the blog containing the updated lists is one of them)

Also, I've noticed no ones has mentioned this, but under Altanaviewer, pressing F11 lets you save the image to a file, and Ctrl+F11 does the same as Print-screen, but *only* copies the content of the viewing window, not the entire program/screen. Which equals one less step for Photosop.
Just thought I'd toss that out there.

Unfortunately that doesn't work in Vista. It saves something else to an image file sadly.

Edit: I don't know of an official site, I just get updates off various forums and stuff. This has all the stuff up through the new sets added in Nyzul Isle. Some of the Perdu weapons from the newest assault rank have the wrong name, but that's easy enough to fix on your own.

Links are dead. Filefront is being brought down. A re-upload with a different service would be greatly appreciated. Either that or a reference to someone else with the most recent item list with a working DL link would do as well.
