Alternative Places to Level

Hi all,

There are certain popular places to level where I am sure people have experienced before, Dunes, Maze, Khazam just to name a few. I was fortunate to come across a few places not usually well known to most player seeking experience points. Not surprisingly, I learned about these places mostly from experienced Japanese players.

I met someone recently that kindly gave my party a raise in the Eldieme Necropolis. He said that his LS managed to Level without Dunes, Qufim, Khazam, Yhoator Jungles, and Garlaige. I was very impressed by that. :) I would like to invite everyone to share their favorite non-"Standard" leveling spot here too. Here are my small list of alternatives.

Pre-Level 15
I have not found any non-typical places (such as Dunes, Tahrongi Canyon, La Theine Plateau, etc.) I don't know much about Bastokan territories since I have not spent much time there yet. Any suggestions would greatly appreciated.

Level 15 - 18, Maze of Shakhrami (BLM / RNG or small party of 2/3)
The Maze is usually fairly crowded with level 11-14 parties. However, BLM and RNG can solo or form small parties to take out the maze makers with relative ease. I soloed my BLM from 16 - 18 in the Maze in one night.

Level 21 - 24, Sauromugue Champaign G-8, Diving Beetles
G-8 in Sauromugue Champaign is a secluded spot where Diving Beetles spawn fairly frequently. I rarely see NA players there leveling 21-24, but I see Japanese parties there pretty frequently. It's fairly contained. It's a refreshing change from the crowded areas of Qufim.

Level 25 - 28, Korroloka Tunnel
I have not experienced this personally, but the friendly WHM mentioned this was one of the better places. I am not sure where in the tunnel or what in the tunnel are good targets, so if anyone have experience here please share!

Level 28-33, Southern Outpost, Yuhtunga Jungle
The pugils (Makara, Big Jaw, etc.) around this area do not link, so a party with skillful puller could pull them pretty well. I have not done any party there myself, but I have watched a couple parties down there. This area is very accessible by choco. And it is definitely not crowded.

Level 30-33, Sauromugue Champaign G-8, Evil Weapons
There are usually two types of party in G-8, 21-24 and 31-33. Evil Weapons are plentiful right outside the entrance to G-8, and they are fairly easy to handle with a skillful puller. I was fortunate to be able to get my 30-32 here with a mixed NA / Japanese party, doing about 3K exp and hour.

Level 32-35, Eldieme Necropolis, O-8 Entrance, Gazers
The only parties I have seen was Japanese parties. I have seen a Japanese party of 36-38, but I think the exp drops off pretty sharply after 36. This area can probably support 2 parties simultaneously, but it is rarely visited. I leveled 33-34.5 there. Managed to get as much experience in one night as I did in Garlaige from 32-33 over several nights. I did not miss the bat trains / fallen / Slime in Garlaige for sure. Also, Gazers drop Mercury, which sells for 7K a stack. Much better drop than any bats ore beetles in Garlaige. One caution: Silencing the Gazers is absolutely necessary to keep it from spaming Stonega II. But once it is silenced, Gazers are pretty doable for a party of 32 to 35.

That's as far as I got. I will continue to post replies here as I learn more. Happy hunting.

Interesting

I just looked at your suggestions and the mob levels for the regions and they seem very interesting. I'm going to try Sauromugue whever I get around to levelling my ninja sub which is at 24 and now underlevelled  while waiting on Genkai...

Also, when re-reading my first paragraph, i remembered your Korroloka suggestion which will also be very nice as a blinktank since MNK type mobs (Who likes mandies? I love Kazham. NOT!!) rip through your shadows.

I'll follow up with my impressions after.

The worms in korroloka tunnel can be solo'd or taken in small parties around 15-20 I think. Someone suggested it to me when I was leveling rng. I haven't tried it out yet though.

i had a party with the lady Nyahoho herself in korroloka, believe me, it was so much more fun than the dunes. It wasn't too camped, almost no aggro (where we were) a close zone, and great exp. It's really too bad more people don't exp there. speaking of which....maybe i should head there as bst....o.o;;;

Leveling Ideas revisited

It's been a while since I posted this. I have not had a lot of time to level , I have just gotten Level 49 a couple days ago. Heavy school work has really taken its toll on this game. I have also switched server to Hades, which means more slow down on my part. However, I have discovered a few more interesting leveling places.

Mystery's list is indeed comprehensive. Here's my personal experience since Level 38:

Level 38-42: I parked outside of Crawler's Nest for the most part. When Crawler's Nest is not too busy, the experience points weren't too bad. However, I definitely had a lot of waiting around time when there are multiple parties in similar level hunting around the same spots.

Level 42 - 44: I had good experience at Valkurm entrance to Gustav Tunnel. Only saw one other party the whole time. The only downside was someone trained high level pugils to the entrance, and they do aggro...

For level 44 - 47, I was in parties with people 2 - 3 levels above me, so the level spread does not necessary match the Mystery Tour List suggestions.

Level 44 - 45: Crawler's Nest again. I made the move to Hades. Crawler's Nest was unusally empty around the secret room, so the leveling experience was excellent.

Level 46: Leveled in two very interesting locations, the first was in Western Altepa, fighting gobs. They were a bit too strong for my party, so we had a lot of down time. In a second party, we leveled on gobs again in Yhoator Jungle near Ifrit's Cauldron entrance. I partied with 5 Japanese players who never stopped fighting for over 2 hours. The gobs were easy targets for this party.

Level 47: Back to crawler's nest...

Level 48: Did the levels in two parts. The first part is in Quicksands Cave against spiders and beetles. They link, but they don't aggro. They were a lot of fun to fight. The second half was back to Crawler's Nest against Rumble Crawlers and Blazer Beetles.

Level 49: More Crawler's Nest, against dragon flys and rumble crawlers...

I am very intrigued by the other options suggested in the Mystery Tour guide. I think I will give them a try sometime. I will post my experience later.

Enjoy!

I have recently hit 32 with DRK and was getting ready to heasd to Garlaige, but I just keep hearing horror stories about that place, specially about the trains.... (Not another Yhoator Jungle please!!!!)

Anyway, I have been trying to find other places to level, and found out that the bats in Garlaige are same level then Gaylas in Behemoth Dominion. Now, I have never been to either of these places, but would the Dominion be a good place? Maybe I have the mobs level wrong as well. And I have no idea what is the configuration of the Dominion, weither or not you could get a Behemot spawning right at the entrace, hwere I guess the Gaylas would be.

Come to think of it, I have no idea what I am talking about!

But like me know what you guys think, I'd do anything to go in other places then the overcrowded regular areas.
