I am completely sore right now...

I had a cavity-- no... a CRATER in my left wisdom tooth... I had it pulled today, heh.

My mouth made me look like I just got One-Hit-KO'ed by Mike Tyson. My mouth was bleeding for a good while. The dentist told me my tooth had become infected and spread to the root and into the gums... I had to have the tooth pulled, and to be put on antibiotics to get rid of the infection... All my other teeth are fine, and well taken care of... It's just that one damn tooth.

...Just my luck... The novicane's starting to wear off now and---

I guess it's kinda convenient that my dentist appointment happened on a maintainance day, eh? And a BIG maintainance day at that! I guess this is my "lollipop" for being a big boy and not crying when I got it pulled.

So, anyone else do anything today instead of sitting around waiting for maintainance to be over? And about the maintainance... Which updated things are good, and bad do you guys think?

got a tooth on ride upper side of my mouth thats sensitive to sweets especially..... its probably a cavity.. but i'll just continue to dodge it by eating all sweets on the left side of my mouth instead^^

Well... In the 2nd picture... You see that pink bulge on the side of my tooth as I hold it up with my index & middle finger? Know what that is?

Well... When they pulled my tooth, they tore off part of my gums... That's a chunk of flesh from my gums still attached to the tooth.



The dentist shot me up with not one, not two, but THREE novicane needles... He went so far back under the skin, I could feel the metal of the needle scraping against my jaw bone. The dentist had to use two sets of pliers to TWIST and jerk the tooth outta my mouth... Until it came out with a loud ripping "pop" sound.

*Gives Drewtaru horrible nightmares of the dentist ripping his teeth out one by one.*

I had all of my wisdoms yanked at once...they didn't put me to sleep - and the left side of my mouth wouldn't numb to the novacaine - so they had to go ahead and yank away - so I WAS AWAKE, and NOT NUMB on one side - and had to listen to them yank my freaking teeth. ><

I hate wisdom teeth...


I hate the dentist....


Though, honestly - I would go through it all over again before getting another root canal....that shit is the suckiest of suck. ><

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, they succesfully numbed me so all I could feel was a muscle cramp type sensation in my jaw. They kept yanking and yanking and I just kept gripping the chair rail tighter and tighter and ended up pulling the arm of the chair free. :shock:

Same shit happened to me too >.<. Except my bottom 2 wisdom teeth were Impacted do they had to drill into them and use an ice pick like tool to break them part so they can yank the pieces.. Oh.. and nothing's worse than the doctor shoving that mother of needles right into my mandibular nerve and taking his time injecting the novacaine. I was gassed and something is wrong when you are gassed and still screaming coz of the pain.. OUCH did that needle hurt bad. I did ask the nurse to marry me though..gas has that effect I learned.

I had an extra root in my two lower wisdom teeth. My dentist found this out AFTER he broke one trying to pull it :shock: He sent me to an oral surgeon to pull the other and for some reason after SEVERAL novacaine shots..it never numbed...so I too had one pulled without being numb...the good thing was he pulled that tooth soooo fast...lol

Man, all you guys with your wisdom tooth horror stories, lol. I had all 4 of mine out at once, one was badly impacted (they had to cut out a sliver of my jaw to get at it :shock but they put me under with Milk of Amnesia, lol. I woke up feeling a little sore, but that was all. Later that afternoon I asked my husband (then boyfriend) if he wanted to go out for a movie, heh. But then, I also have a freakishly high pain tolerance. *shrugs*

I have to admit to having perfect teeth, but secretly I've always wanted my wisdom teeth yanked out. Why you may ask? Well from what I've seen with all my friends is a week out of work/school and a lot, lot of vikadins...which would mean a drugged up week off in front of the TV.....

Last summer, I started feeling some pain in my jaw, along with some good headaches.... oh shit, wisdom tooth are coming out... at 27 ??

Then the dentist took some X-ray and told my the headaches were not related and the pain was a minor cavity (had that repaired right away). The nice thing is the X-ray showed I only had 2 wisdom teeth (allright, fire away the jokes, heard them all!) on my left side. Told me there is a 98% chance that they will never get out. And even if the Bottom one did, there was enough room, so no need to remove it. The upper one tho migtht come out of my ear, but again, there is a slim to none chance of that happening!

reading all your stories makes me feel so glad I most probably won't have to go throught that OMG!!!!
